Description
Very unusual vintage Parliament Award
This is a genuine 1976 Award from Casablanca Records to commemorate Parliament’s first albums to achieve gold & platinum status in the US. ‘Mothership Connection’ was certified Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), whilst ‘The Clones of Dr. Funkenstein’ went Gold in the same year.
The wood frame (with gold trim) measures 12x15 inches (32x39cms) and features a ‘slice’ of vinyl that’s divided into 2 gold, and 1 platinum segment. There are a few small marks here and there, but considering it’s nearly 30 years old, it’s in great condition. The plaque mounted on the award reads:

This award was produced by Dejay Products of California, who also manufactured RIAA awards. These awards were only presented within the music industry, and should not be confused with any kind of replica or ‘limited edition’ discs that are sold direct to the public
