There has always been an emotional side to Parquet Courts - balanced with their more discussed cerebral face - but the band’s Andrew Savage sees new album Human Performance as a redistribution of weight. “I began to question my humanity, and if it was always as sincere as I thought, or if it was a performance,” he says. “I felt like a sort of malfunctioning apparatus, like a machine programmed to be human showing signs of defect.”
