Description
I have been collecting records for over 35 years, after much thought I have decided to part with some of my most treasured items and let them go to a fellow collector as the next custodian in the chain. I’ve always strived to get the best copy I could at the time. In the next few weeks – as time permits- I will list some of my Jazz collection - first press issues of Atlantic, Blue Note, Prestige, Riverside, Impulse etc. Artists will include, Sonny Rollins, Paul Chambers, Curtis Fuller, Cannonball, Miles, Monk etc etc.
All records have been cleaned on my Keith Monks Record Cleaning Machine and my Ultrasonic Record Cleaning Machine. The records have been played on my Micro Seiki RX 5000 with either a Ortofon SPU GT (Stereo) or a SoundSmith Carmen (Mono).
The second listing today is for Paul Chambers Quintet with Donald Byrd, Cliff Jordan, Tommy Flanagan, Elvin Jones
Blue Note 1564
Side 1 label is 47 west 63rd
Side 2 label is 167 lexington avenue - this was not uncommon back in 1957 - as they transitioned addresses but used up old stock labels.
The inner sleeve is original and blank - this is correct - for details please refer to 'Blue Note Records' by Fredrick Cohen.
This record also has a Blank Spine - again this is correct
Deep Groove & Plastylite symbol in the dead wax
Beaded Rim
Laminated
RVG is etched
I would grade the record as EX - close to NM. It is truly a life experience to listen to this record on a good system.
The sleeve I would grade to NM.
Includes the original inner blank inner.
I will refund in full if a buyer is not happy. I will only ship within USA.
Apologies to all viewing this listening. Being older and technology challenged I loaded the wrong record / vinyl pics... I loaded vinyl pics of my 'Whim of Chambers' BLP 1534 by mistake. The description also relates to the wrong record. Ebay will not allow me to delete the wrong photo's ...I've added 3t correct vinyl pics for BLP 1564.. The new description on the correct vinyl is below:
BLP 1564 - Paul Chambers Quintet - Vinyl details : Grading on Side 1 & 2 both NM Side 1 & 2 labels 47 West 63rd address RVG - Stamped Blank Spine Laminated Deep Groove & Plastylite symbol in dead wax Beaded Rim
Please note this auction is for BLP 1564 Cover and vinyl record for the Paul Chambers Quintet. The buyer WILL NOT get a vinyl record of BLP 1534. I will list 'Whim of Chambers' later today or this weekend. Apologies for any confusion.
On Feb-08-19 at 13:59:45 PST, seller added the following information:
This pressing also has the '9M' in the dead wax, from the London Jazz Collector website this indicates use of the original 'Metalwork' - thus a mother or very early 'Stamper'.
