PAUL CHAMBERS SEXTET "WHIMS OF CHAMBERS" LP - On Blue Note Records, #1534.  Extremely rare vintage jazz Lp.  Original FLAT EDGE MONO pressing with the classic Blue & White labels and the 767 LEXINGTON AVE-NYC address on both labels.  The label is DEEP GROOVE on both sides.  "EAR" and RVG etched in the trail-off on both sides.  Thick vinyl, thick glossy cardboard cover.   The personnel:  Donald Byrd/trumpet; John Coltrane/tenor sax; Kenny Burrell/guitar; Horace Silver/piano; Paul Chambers/bass; "Philly" Joe Jones/drums.  The heavy vinyl is mostly in NM condition (beautiful gloss).  There are, however, a few flaws to be noted.  One minute into side 1 track 1, several grooves contain some damage (likely caused by a worn needle stylus of old phonograph) for just a few revolutions.  This could possibly affect play on a very sensitive turntable.  Also, side 1 track 3 has a tiny surface scratch mark that sounds faintly for a few passes, yet the loud production of the cut allows the music to predominate.  The remainder of disc looks & plays absolutely great!!  The thick cardboard cover is in superb shape and displays wonderfully with tight seams.  Stunning!!  There is hardly any wear at all to front or back side:  bright & clean!  Small name written faintly on back cover at top left corner.  There are NO seam splits, NO bends or creases, NO cut-out marks, and the front cover graphics are particularly striking.  Address on back cover is 767 Lexington Ave., New York 21.  The songs are:  Omicron; Whims Of Chambers; Nita; We Six; Dear Ann; Tale Of The Fingers; Just For The Love.
