Paul Evans is an American Rock and Roll singer and songwriter, who was most prominent in the 1950s and 1960s. As a performer, he had hits with the songs "Seven Little Girls sitting in the Backseat" (his biggest hit, reaching #9 (1959) on the Billboard Hot 100), "Midnight Special" and "Happy-Go-Lucky Me". Although he was only a hitmaker for a couple of years or so, his influence upon both the soul and British Invasion stars of the 1960s was vast, and his early hits remain core classics of the rock repertoire.
