Its very rare that anything with Paul Kossoff’s genuine signature comes up for sale but I presently have in my possession ONE LAST ITEM I’m selling on behalf of Free fan Christine Woodward who writes:

“I obtained some autographs after sending a ‘Get Well’ card to Paul after his heart attack in 1975. I became a fan of Paul’s as soon as I heard ‘All Right Now’ and watched FREE, BSC and Bad Company many times at Birmingham Town Hall. Now I am getting older I want these to go to a person who will get pleasure from them.”

This item is one of the rarest I’ve ever come across. Its one of the original letters sent out by Paul while he was in hospital. Size is six and a half inches by five and a half inches (6 ½" x 5 ½"). The body of the letter itself (the typed part) is duplicated but the top and bottom lines are by Paul and handwritten in black ball point pen. ‘Dear Christine’ on the top, and Paul’s signature on the bottom.

To make this clear, these two lines are handwritten by Paul. They are not copies. He had a duplicated letter made and then he wrote in the name and signed the letter personally.

The full letter reads;

                                                                      Fletcher Ward

                                                                      Northwick Park Hospital

Dear Christine

I want to thank you for the good wishes you sent me.

They must have helped, because I’m getting better. Every

day shows a little improvement.

Please excuse this duplicated note, it’s because

There were a lot of concerned and kindly messages like yours.

The duplication does not in any way lessen my gratitude for

Having good friends, in increases it.

See you fairly soon I hope

Paul Kossoff

The signature is authenticated by Free / Paul Kossoff historian David Clayton as genuine.

This would look great framed under something like the Back Street Crawler solo album cover from 1973 or with a photo of Paul. It’s a very nice piece of memorabilia for any fan of the great and much missed guitarist.

This item is being sold via auction as requested by Christine.

If you want the item please BID. Emails requesting a price or making an offer will not receive a reply.
