ORIGINAL & VERY RARE 1976 "PROMOTIONAL TEXTURED COVER" U.S. ISSUE OF PAUL McCARTNEY'S, "WINGS OVER AMERICA" 3 RECORD ALBUM SET!!
Extremely rare promotional issue of Paul McCartney’s classic “Wings Over America” 3 record set (Capitol SWCO-11593). Only the promotional issues were issued in this vinyl like textured cover! The commercial issues were glossy standard covers. These textured covers are far scarcer than the standard commercial covers. Capitol Records used these vinyl like textured covers for promotional distribution due to their strength and durability in handling and mailing. I can’t stress enough just how scarce these DJ versions of this album really are. I’ve been collecting Beatles records for decades and this is only the second one I’ve ever seen. The other copy is in my collection. The 4th image of Denny Laine and Paul from the inside of the gatefold best illustrates the vinyl like texture. This example is complete and in overall excellent condition. Review the high resolution images and read the detailed descriptions below for complete specific condition information.
CONDITION:
The colors are vibrant and saturated with no fading either inside or out. The gatefold cover exhibits minor creasing, some corner wear and 2 inch seam splits to the top of each pocket. The original pocket inserts are both fully intact and in excellent condition. A very respectable copy of this extremely rare 41 year old triple record set (issued in December of 1976).
All three records are in excellent condition with barely played vinyl and NM labels.
The original thick paper custom inner sleeves are included and in excellent condition with only a small approximately 1 inch bottom seam split of the disc 2 sleeve.
The 20” x 30” double sided full color poster is in unused condition with only minimal signs of wear and no tears, seam splits, pin holes or tape residue.
The cover will be sent in a resealable Japanese polypropylene sleeve. The records are in brand new white poly lined inner sleeves. Non sealed records are always packaged outside the cover and original record company inner sleeves to protect from disc impression and seam splits during transit.<o:p></o:p>
