Oh MY! What a delightful disaster this was!  The song ‘Jet’ was a hit that McCartney really needed. His album ‘Band On The Run’ was beginning to sag, and it seemed like Capitol had to do something. So it was decided that the next single would be “Jet’ and it would have to be trimmed up a bit.

Somebody with a blindfold and a pair of scissors did a hasty trim to the song bringing it down from 4:08 to a more ‘radio friendly’ 2:49. While this chopped version might have turned the fortunes of the band and secured them a hit, it wasn’t looked on kindly by McCartney who has vanished the track (in this form) ever since. You’ll not find this edit anywhere.

This PROMO ONLY 45 has the same song on both sides, one is the short version, the other side is the full length version.
