I remember what I thought when I heard McCartney singing “Mary Had A Little Lamb” for the first time.
GAD! What will Lennon think??
This surely must have been the result of losing some bar bet. It was May of '72 and Wings had only just begun. In fact, this was their second single, coming hot on the heels of the in-your-face taunt of "Give Ireland Back to The Irish."
Astounding too, this was a top ten record in the UK and got well into the #28 slot in America. Were we just that hungry for new McCartney?
This non-Lp single features the flipside "Little Woman Love." These days they can be found packaged with some editions of the Wild Life CD.
