PEPE MIRANDA
Peter Delis, Su Conjunto Y Coros
(Peter Delis, His Ensemble And Chorus)
(Both Songs Sung In Spanish)
SIDE 1: LA PERA MADURA
(Pera Matura)
SIDE B: ST. TROPEZ TWIST
(Saint-Tropez Twist)
MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original Virrey Records very first Mono press released, made and distributed in Peru by “El Virrey” Industrias Musicales S.A. (Virrey Records) in 1963, catalog number V 2159, with hand etched matrix numbers V-2159-1F in Side A and V-2159-2F in Side B, with traditional dark green/silver Virrey Records labels of the period with big Virrey Records logo at top and large center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from South America!!!
“La Pera Madura” (“The Ripe Pear” in English) was the debut single of Pepe Miranda in the label Virrey Records, with song “St. Tropez Twist” as Side B, both songs Spanish-sung versions of Italian hits, “Pera Matura” by Pino Donaggio in 1961 and “Saint-Tropez Twist” by Peppino Di Capri in 1958. Song titles are written in Spanish only “La Pera Madura” and in original language, abbreviated, “St. Tropez Twist”, with full credits for songwriters and Spanish lyricist for “St. Tropez Twist”, with additional information about the style of music of the songs, “Twist” in both cases. It’s interesting to notice that credits for “La Pera Madura” are only “Derechos Reservados” (Reserved Rights), but the original songwriter is Pino Donaggio and the Spanish lyrics were written by the Argentinian lyricist Rafael Smolarchik under the pseudonym Rafaelmo, so I can only guess they “hid” the original songwriters for a matter of rights. It’s also interesting to check the label because this record was reissued many times, but only the very first press has only a rim text at the bottom “Manufacturado Por “El Virrey” Industrias Musicales S.A.”, second pressings also have a rim text which occupies almost all the circumference. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PERUVIAN PRESS of this single by Pepe Miranda, with Spanish-sung versions of Italian hits and with UNIQUE HIDDEN CREDITS for songwriters of a song!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Pepe Miranda, Pino Donaggio, Peppino Di Capri, Peter Delis and early 60’s Latin Pop/Rock’n’Roll music!!!
This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with some light scuffs and light hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in nice EX+ or NM- condition both sides, clear and clean, with only some spindle hole wear and faint age browning. The sound is in strong EX+ or even NM- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise, with minimal and barely audible occasional soft crackles, more evident in the last seconds of each song, which don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE PERUVIAN VERY FIRST PRESS, with a nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and superb sound quality after about 61 years, which shouldn't disappoint anyone and should satisfy any serious collector. Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

_________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
