Powered by eCommercePlayer.com ARTIST: PETE RODRIGUEZ Y SU CONJUNTO

TITLE: :LATIN BOOGALOO

Pete Rodriguez exploded onto the Latin music scene with a sound that young Latinos could relate to in an instant. The Latin Boogaloo. This sound, which was not much more than a guajira riff with a back beat, gave young Latinos a sound they could respond to. Not only that, but it was sung in English, the language of young Latinos living in New York in the mid-sixties. Pete had the advantage of having associated himself with trumpeter/vocalist Tony Pabon, (and Manny Rodriguez) who was a crucial part of the boogaloo experience with his writing and exciting antics when he performed as lead vocalist for the band. This album gave us a taste of what was to be. It would be followed up by the gigantic Pete Rodriguez hit, I Like It Like That, an album from 1967 that still resounds through TV and movie themes worldwide. Pete served as a U S Marine and returned to his native Bronx, NY, in 1964. At that point, being a skilled pianist/arranger he set out to form a band of his liking with dreams of making a big impact on the Latin scene. He was to become the King of Boogaloo in a couple of years, thanks to recordings like this one, Latin Boogaloo.

WE USE THE FOLLOWING SCALE FOR OUR STRICT, PLAYED (SOME TRACKS) AND/OR VISUAL GRADING OF VINYL:

Sealed : Jacket is sealed shut in shrink wrap, disc is sold ungraded or "as is". If you wish I can carefully open the film and send the vinyl separate of the cover? BUT PLS. ADVISE!

NM- : A record in this condition appears barely played, no noise, no clicks, no marks, no scratches and maybe just a few paper scuffs!

VG++ (Excellent) : A record in this condition may have one or two visible imperfections, but these will be of a purely cosmetic nature (i.e. sleeve scuffs or other superficial marks) and will not affect play, of course, no skips, no significant noise or clicks. A VG++ record will have no scratches.

VG+ : A record in this condition will have a few visible imperfections. These may include sleeve scuffs, superficial marks, and very light scratches if any. The presence of a single light scratch is enough for us to grade an otherwise markless record VG+; a VG+ record will have no more than a few such scuffs or scratches.

VG : A record in this condition will show the kinds of imperfections found on a VG+ records but in slightly greater numbers. There may be a number of light scratches and other marks, but a VG record will not bear any scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail. TO BE SOLD AS IS!

VG- : A record in this condition will have a number of visible imperfections; the presence of a considerable number of light scratches will force us to give a record this grade, as will the presence of even one scratch deep enough to be felt with a fingernail. TO BE SOLD AS IS!
