Pete Townsend

'Who Came First'

Track, UK, 1972

2408 201

INTERESTING DEBUT solo album from the Who's guitarist and songwriter. These were tracks inspired by and dedictated to Meha Baba, an indian spiritual guru, of whom Townsend was a devoted followee. The tracks have disperate origins - some being originally written for the Who and others being left overs for other projects. Despite this, the album is a cohesive snap shot of Townsends huge and varied talent displaying forcefulness and gentility side by side.
Super nice copy with the rare gatefold poster.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
