Pete Townshend released his appropriately titled debut solo album "Who Came First" in October 1972 on Track Records / Decca. It contains several tracks that had been destined for The Who's aborted "Lifehouse" followup to "Tommy." The track "Pure And Easy" is one of his standards but so is "Nothing Is Everything (Let's See Action) which was later shortened to its more familiar name.

This copy (DL 79189) is from the first pressing and is in excellent condition. The original gatefold cover has some minor edge wear but it and the original 11" x 22" poster insert are VG+. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was pressed at the MCA Records plant in Pinckneyville, IL. The dead wax on Side 1 is etched MG 7-13082 (W3) 2.

In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve. It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 49 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
