Description
Before Peter Bardens was Camel’s keyboardist, and had been on the British R&B-rock and psychedelic scene for about half a dozen years before his first solo album. He played in early bands with Mick Fleetwood and Peter Green, as well as (briefly) in Them with Van Morrison. He recorded a few solo albums. Vintage ’69 seems to be the same album as The Answer (from 1970), except that “Let’s Get It On” from that album has been replaced here with the track “Write My Name in the Dust.” Notable guests include Peter Green (early Fleetwood Mac guitarist) (under pseudonym Andy Gee). This gem is fairly unknown but the people that know it love it.
It is a very stoned album. Peter Green's wah wah guitars are battling Peter Barden's hammond organ. The bluesy 'don't goof with a spook' builds up to a giant climax. After that is the 14 minute epic 'I can't remember' about being too stoned to remember what you just thought of. Again it ends in a psychedelic climax with Peter ranting OUT OF MY BRAIN. Classic!
U.K. pressing on Transatlantic Records from 1970. The sleeve is in excellent(+) condition and the record is in near mint condition.
