Over is generally considered to be one of Hammill's most important solo albums, containing as it does some of his most intensely personal songs. The album details the breakup of a long term relationship with a woman known as Alice.    Over was recorded during a period of a line-up change for Hammill's band Van der Graaf Generator. It features VdGG band members Guy Evans, Graham Smith 'formerly of String Driven Thing' on Violin, also the Bassist Nic Potter.   SIDE ONE: Crying Wolf / Autumn / Time Heals / Alice (Letting Go) SIDE TWO: This Side of the Looking Glass / Betrayed / (On Tuesdays She Used to do) Yoga / Lost and Found   LABELS: NEAR MINT Both clean with little use evident, with just one light spindle trace line on side one label.   VINYL VISUAL: NEAR MINT Both side are faultless no marks can be found.   AUDIO TEST: NEAR MINT Many of the tracks on this album Over have complex compositions and most tracks have passages of loud strong audio that drop to almost silent in places, the occasional brief static tics are noted (very brief). The un-marked vinyl delivers the expected audio quality, and overall could be considered as outstanding. SLEEVE: NEAR MINT The clean, free of wear matt sleeve has the appearance of a brand new example, and there is very little to fault on this sleeve. INNER SLEEVE: NEAR MINT Again the original lyric inner sleeve is free of handling creases, stains and indicates the careful past storage and handling of this album.   POSTAGE & PACKAGING: I only use quality packing boxes with stiffeners, and all records are sent within new protective sleeves. Their cover and inner sleeve are packed separately, and stiffened as required to prevent crushing. Sealed within plastic sleeves to prevent moisture issues during shipping, every care is taken.
