PFM (PREMIATA FORNERIA MARCONI) - 'PER UN AMICO' - STEREO VINYL LP - 1ST PRESSING - NUMERO UNO - DZSLN 55155 - 1972
Description
A 33 1/3 RPM stereo vinyl LP, 'Per Un Amico' by Italian progressive rock band, PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi)
The album was released in 1972 on the Italian Numero Uno label.
This was the 2nd studio album from PFM, and regarded as their breakthrough album. Recorded at Fonorama Studios, in Milan, and released in November, 1972
(After PFM signed to Manticore, all of the tracks from this album appeared on their 1973 debut English-language LP, 'Photos Of Ghosts'. The lyrics being rewritten in English by Pete Sinfield.)
All songs were are credited to Mauro Pagani, Franco Mussida & Flavio Premoli on the label.
Musicians:- Flavio Premoli, keyboards and lead vocals; Franco Mussida, electric & acoustic guitars, mandocello and lead vocals; Franz Di Cioccio, drums, percussion and backing vocals; Giorgio 'Fico' Piazza, bass and backing vocals; Mauro Pagani, flutes, piccolo, violin and backing vocals
Produced by PFM, in collaboration with Claudio Fabi, engineered by Gaetano Ria
The gatefold sleeve has a surrealist artwork (no credits) front and back (vaguely reminiscent of 'Pictures At An Exhibition by ELP?), with just the full band name and no album title on front, back or spine. There is a large, b & w photo of the band in the studio across the inside of the gatefold. There is also the album title, track listing, musician details, production credits, 'thank yous' etc. (all in Italian).
In small print in the bottom, right-hand corner of the back cover is 'Printed In Italy - Campi Grafica - Poligno 11/72', identifying it as an Italian 1st pressing.
Both labels have large 'deep grooves'
Plain, white paper, inner sleeve.

Condition
The vinyl looks VG+.
There are a few tiny scratches, although there don't seem to be any noticeable pops.
Surface noise is evident, particularly in the quiet passages, but it's not obtrusive and the album is eminently listenable..
The sleeve is VG. There is some ring and edge wear.
A previous owner has written her name, in small letters, in biro on the photo inside the gatefold. She has similarly written her name on both record labels. (see photos).
The inner sleeve has a couple of small tears and marks of ageing. The same name, as above, appears in biro on the inner. Below it is the word 'Revolver', which might suggest this isn't the original inner? (see photos).
