The condition of the cover is M- STILL IN THE SHRINK WRAP (see photos).  There is a round cut-out hole in the upper left corner, no seam splits or writing.  The condition of the disc is a beautiful M- and it plays great!

This was rumored to be Jim Morrison singing with an anonymous band with the names of "drummer X, bassist Y, and keyboardist Z". The music resembles Jim Morrison's vocal style quite well. All this again added and sparked the rumor mills, and stirred public fascination back in the early '70s. Regarding this rumor, Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek stated: "If there was one guy that would have been capable of staging his own death -- getting a phony death certificate and paying off some French doctor... And putting a hundred and fifty pound sack of sand into a coffin and splitting to some point on this planet -- Africa, who knows where -- it is Jim Morrison who would have been able to pull it off."

Despite the rumors that JIM MORRISON was alive...the music within is not very similar to The Doors but rather shares a baritone range in vocals to Jim Morrison but hey, people love their conspiracies. Anonymity aside, this is a wonderful album, superbly realised and performed. If they'd had some decent publicity at the time they could have been huge. This has to be one of the contenders for the greatest album that no-one has heard of and is nothing short of sensational -- It's impact is still immense and it never fail to amaze with repeat plays ever growing. Stylistically. it is a very laid back psychedelic journey, based on Arthurian legend. This was a bit of an in-joke as the leader of the band, the singer and composer, turns out to have been a guy called Arthur Pendragon.

The Phantom's Devine Comedy has excellent musicianship, especially the guitar work and this cat possesses a truly fabulous Jim Morrison tone. The very best aspect are the arrangements; their skill at blending the right level of light and shade and the sheer sense of grandeur cannot be overstated -- an overall colossus of an achievement ...
