“CHILDHOOD’S END, AND OTHER SONGS FOR ELECTRIC CHILDREN”
…vinyl LP…- Original Australian release…1973…for those of you who don’t know this, it’s a pure gem of an album…the comparison to Madden and Harris’s “Fools Paradise” is not just my own...and it’s quite obvious from the quickest of listens…includes some great acoustic tracks but a couple of real special psych folk cuts: the brilliant “Childhood’s End”, and the very trippy “Electric Children”, laden with spaced-out phasing effects, are stand-outs…while “The Chase” is electric progressive folk of the highest order…with some simply stunning and very tasteful guitar…there is literally not one bad track on here…fully deserves the accolades it’s received.
(The white 'patch' in the middle of the scan is the camera flash, and is NOT on the cover itself...very sorry about that!) On Sweet Peach
