Description

We are thrilled and honoured to be offering for sale a number of items from the late Stan Tracey's own personal collection on behalf of his son Clark Tracey. This includes many extremely rare albums, some purchased by Stan during his time in New York, plus test pressings and other gems collected over his lifetime as a musician and composer.
An original 1972 1st press copy of Phil Seamen Story - a tribute album released after Phil Seamen's death featuring such British jazz greats as Tubby Hayes, Dick Morrissey, Tony Coe and more.
The original 4 page tribute booklet with appreciation & anecdotes from fellow musicians is also included - this is often missing!
Degritter cleaned, the vinyl is spotlessly clean and with an excellent gloss retained - no real marks apart from a few very faint scuffs. Clean labels & spindle holes apart from a few fingermarks - graded EX.
Playback reveals a clear and clean sound quality with good dynamics. Side 1 Track 1 has a few ticks at the start but this subsides to play through beautifully with no jumping or sticking.
The gatefold laminate sleeve is sturdy & robust with a few creases and a couple of small areas of laminate lift just beginning on the rear. No splits, writing, tape or tears. Lovely readable spine.
The booklet is pretty crisp apart from a small stain inside.
Original inner sleeve present & included.
A lovely copy to own, play & enjoy, fully cleaned & tested.

The record will be sent separated out in an archival outer sleeve to prevent transit splits.
