Description

Here is a nice copy of a single by The Crystals: "Uptown" b/w "What a Nice Way to Turn Seventeen" (Philles 102). Produced and arranged by Phil Spector. Comes with its original factory sleeve. Beautiful purple vinyl.


According to the book Collecting Phil Spector: the Man, the Legend, and the Music by John Fitzpatrick and James Fogarty, employees at the plant where the Philles records were pressed would occasionally press "unauthorized" colored wax copies of the Philles records, for their own personal amusement. These colored wax issues should not be confused with the other, later unauthorized Philles issues form the late 1970s which had unusual B-sides (such as Philles 123, "Walking in the Rain" with "Paradise" on the flip).


Record is EX condition. The labels have some minor wear, but the vinyl is clean and glossy.
