 Here’s another one of those great Pheonix garage bands and they really can get a great snotty vocal going on this one. Led by Phil Kelsey (Texan by birth, but moved to AZ as fast as he could!) he was in several bands along the way, a typical trajectory of your average garage band of the era. They did loads of covers and learned to write their own stuff too.

Back in the day you might have caught them downstairs at JD’s while Waylon Jennings was playing upstairs. =

This single is from July of 1965 and is his second single from the Sounds LTD label. The tunes here are “Say That You Will” and “Till You Get What You Want.”  You’ve likely heard them on Acid Dreams Epitaph, or on other psychedelic collections. Both sides are wonderful gems in their own way.
