GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : allievo ed amico di Iannis Xenakis, Philippe Besombes lascia in tutti i brani dell'album vene sonore d'avanguardia sia utilizzando la musica aleatoria di John Cage e dello stesso Xenakis che quella concreta di Schaeffer. Tuttavia il compositore concede ampio spazio alla psichedelia, al rock cosmico, alle sonorità della chitarra in stile Hendrix, persino al pop. Sempre tutto in un'irrequieta ricerca sperimentale. Particolari sensazioni derivano dall'uso della voce soprattutto quella femminile, eterea, grottesca, misteriosa, lamentevole...  Fra i brani: "Rugby" (a2) chitarra Hendrixiana, percussioni insistenti e ripetitive, sintetizzatore, voci. "Ballade en vélo" (a4) dove chitarra, batteria e ottoni riecheggiano fortemente "I got you babe" di Sonny & Cher. "Jaune" (a7) molto ritmica con chitarra, batteria ed effetti sonori, "PJF 261" (a8) con buone soluzioni d'avanguardia principalmente basate su le svariate modulazioni del sintetizzatore e una lamentosa voce femminile, "Raggacountry" (a9), tema psichedelico con sitar e percussioni etniche in rilievo. "Hache 06" (b1) sorretta da un poderoso riff del basso e dal bel fraseggio della batteria, con interessanti interventi del sintetizzatore e della chitarra, "La Ville" (b4) bella fusione fra psichedelia e rock cosmico con sitar, basso, effetti sonori, percussioni e batteria, "Les Cosmonautes" (b5) ricca di sonorità spaziali sottolineate dal sintetizzatore con voci in lontananza.  

Notes : pupil and friend of Iannis Xenakis, Philippe Besombes inserts in all the tracks on album  of avant-garde strains using both aleatoric music by John Cage and Xenakis himself and the concrete one by Schaeffer. However, the composer allows ample space to psychedelia, cosmic rock, sonorities of Hendrixian guitar and even pop. Everything always in a frantic experimental research. Special sensations arise from the use of voice in particular the female one: ethereal, grotesque, weird, plaintive ...  Among the tracks: "Rugby" (a2) Hendrixian guitar, insistent and repetitive percussion, synthesizer, voices. "Ballade en vélo" (a4) where guitar, drums and brass instruments strongly echo "I got you babe" by Sonny & Cher. "Jaune" (a7) from the lively rhythm supported by guitar, drums and sound effects, "PJF 261" (a8) with excellent avant-garde solutions based mainly on the varied sonorities of the synthesizer and a plaintive female voice, "Raggacountry" (a9) psychedelic theme underlined by sitar and ethnic percussion. "Hache 06" (b1) led by a powerful bass riff and remarkable drumming with the interesting participation of synthesizer and guitar, "La Ville" (b4) beautiful fusion between psychedelia and cosmic rock with sitar, bass, sound effects, percussion and drums, "Les Cosmonautes" (b5) full of spatial music led by the synthesizer with voices in the distance.
