Description

PIERO PICCIONI - L’ORCHESTRA RACCONTA Lp. RARE SCAT CHORUS JAZZ WALTZ SOUNDTRACK

PIERO PICCIONI - L’ORCHESTRA RACCONTA on RECORD BAZAR (RB 112) from 1977
Description: 1st original Italian pressing. Seldom seen or heard lounge jazz LP featuring vocal cover versions of Italian soundtrack themes and other standards. This is the Lp that includes Piccioni's alternative psychedelic version of Morricone's METTI UNA SERA A CENA soundtrack. Indeed, this track is a superb composition where Piccioni mix a moody scat vocal version of “Ti prego amami” with a superb brazilian jazz version of "Metti una sera a cena". Amazing! Other superb tracks are the psych jazz funk version Carol King's “It’s too late”, the big-band jazz (with scat chorus) version of Trovajoli's “Sette uomini d’oro”, the groovy version of “Malizia” sung by Fred Bongusto, the bossa scat version of Bacharach's “This guy’s in love with you” and the big-band waltz theme “Mondo di notte”.. Fantastic and rare Lp from start to finish!
