I am selling my complete collection of vinyl albums, which I inherited from my brother.
This collection has been in my possession since the late 1970’s when my brother emigrated to the Middle East. They have all been kept in record cases and have only been played recently to grade them on a very high spec music system which is owned by a good friend, who helped me grade them accordingly.
My brother was a regular reader of Melody Maker in the 1960’s/70’s and often ordered albums from a local record shop in London before they were released. This resulted in him obtaining many first pressings. Although he was unaware at the time of the importance of a first pressing, he always liked to be the first person to get an album and tell friends at school/college.
After purchasing the albums, he always recorded them on his Phillips portable reel-to-reel tape recorder so he could play his music where he wanted (and not inflict his taste in music on our parents and me, who weren’t into this type of music). This means the records weren’t played very often.
I will be selling albums by: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, King Crimson, Mountain, Rolling Stones, Tangerine Dream, Frank Zappa, The Who, plus many, many more.
Although the records have been stored in record cases, I haven’t cleaned them, leaving that to the purchaser. I’m not an expert at grading the albums but my friend has helped with the condition description.
I would like to see them sold to collectors who appreciate classic albums.
Once purchased if you are not completely satisfied, I will give a full refund on return of the item. Please contact me with any questions you may have.
Each album will be sent first class, signed for postage.
Each album will be in a plastic sleeve, in high quality, cardboard LP mailer with stiffening.
If additional cover is required, please let me know on completion of auction.
