It's December and we're pulling all the ultra heavy stuff out--and here's one that is impossibly rare. A UK promo copy of the Pink Floyd's psychedelic masterpiece, their debut album THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN. This NM/MINT first stereo pressing has the incredibly rare "FACTORY SAMPLE" sticker, and the earliest stamper/master numbers possible. The matrix is YAX 3419-1, of course, but the Master Number is 1 and the Stamper is G, meaning this is the absolute first first pressing made. One of a few hundred of the very first. The cover is of course the proper first printing too, with no copy on the top flipback. This came from the collection of a former UK EMI executive and is stunning, with only a few faint spindle marks, but otherwise no sign of play. It just doesn't get any better than this, and in 33 years of collecting records, I've never seen another UK promo copy. Get it while you can--I can't imagine there will be another mint promo copy of this available for a very very long time. and check my other auctions for more high end special items.
