Description
This A3/B3 pressing of A Momentary Lapse of Reason is in excellent condition. Under a bright light I can only see a couple of fine hairlines on each side and it retains that glossy sheen of new vinyl. With hardly any spindle wear I would say this record has hardly been played.
I have play tested the LP all the way through and the audio does not disappoint. As is common the 'Signs Of Life' does play with a little crackle but only during the first half and is not obtrusive. The remaining tracks play as near to Mint as you will find. The intro to 'On the Turning Away' for example plays with no static, the audio is stunning and crystal clear. The side plays without any skips or jumps.
'Yet Another Movie' starts Side Two with only very minor lead in static. It soon disappears and plays with great clarity with no other background noise. There is light static at the end of 'Round and Around'. 'A New Machine' plays superbly with just the slightest of interference but is not obtrusive in any way. The audio on 'Terminal Frost' is sublime and 'Sorrow' ends the LP with quiet crackle at the beginning but then plays very clearly, a great listen.
With just absolute minimal static here and there this is one of the best 'Momentary Lapses' I have heard and would be a great find for any Floyd fan.
The gatefold cover is in excellent condition with a little rubbing on the top and bottom of the spine. There is slight spotting but is absolutely minimal. The edges are very clean although there is a very small amount of wear (1.5cm) on the top of the back cover. It has a very strong wide spine still in superb condition. The inside of the gatefold is in great condition. It is certainly one of the better gatefolds you will find for this LP.
The lyric inner is near perfect except for one small crease in the top left hand corner.
