ORIGINAL UK HARVEST (SHDW 403) FIRST PRESSING (January 1974) OF PINK FLOYD'S FIRST TWO ALBUMS COUPLED TOGETHER AS "A Nice Pair" - IN BEAUTIFUL, LIGHTLY PLAYED CONDITION (possibly played once or twice at most as the labels have barely a spindle trace to be seen and the record surfaces shine like new) AND THEY DELIVER SENSATIONAL AUDIO (ON MY SYSYEM - AT A VERY LOUD VOLUME!) WITH A CRYSTAL CLEAR, CLEAN AND FRESH SOUND - A REALLY EXCEPTIONAL COPY - THE FINEST I HAVE HEARD
PRESSED ON TWO QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT RECORDS (much thicker than later pressings) WITH THE FIRST YELLOW/GREEN HARVEST LABELS WITH "THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD" RIM TEXT (changed to "EMI RECORDS" just a few months later in mid-1974)
FIRST PRESS MATRIX NUMBERS: YAX 3419-1 / YAX 3420-1 (record one) and YAX 3633-1 / YAX 3634-2 (record two) (all stamped) - the lowest matrix set used for this pressing
MOTHERS/STAMPERS: 2/PP and 2/RH (record one) and 2/HH and 1/OM (record two) (all stamped)
THE RECORDS ARE HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL SOFT-BACKED MATT GATEFOLD SLEEVE "MADE AND PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN" WITH THE FRONT "WR PHANG" PICTURE (WITHDRAWN FROM LATER ISSUES AND REPLACED WITH THE "GARGLING MONK")
AND THE SET COMES COMPLETE WITH THE TWO ORIGINAL EARLIEST INNER SLEEVES (ONE BLUE, ONE GREEEN) WHICH HAVE SQUARE CUT CORNERS AND TOP OPENING THUMB NOTCH (these inners were only issued in the earliest pressings and most inners are found with rounded corners)
SUPERB SET OF THE FIRST TWO ESSENTIAL FLOYD ALBUMS IN BEAUTIFUL, BARLEY PLAYED CONDITION - GREAT STUFF - VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INDEED

LABELS: The labels are clean, fresh and unmarked with barely any spindle traces evident (one, possibly two at most) - this copy has clearly hardly ever been played - MINT-
VINYL Visual: Both records retain their original deep, like new glossy sheen and are unmarked - MINT-
VINYL Audio: Sensational audio delivery with a crystal clear, deep, rich and strong sound and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing and it's always a real pleasure to return to these two albums - two of the most important British albums ever released) there are no scratches, no sticks/jumps, no clicks or pops and no surface noise to speak of (just the lightest touch on the very quiet central section of "A Saucerful Of Secrets" but it's extremely minor and barely worth a mention). This pressing is exceptionally clean - the run-ins and track divisions are silent and the quieter sections play as beautifully (and quietly) as vinyl possibly can. A fantastic and incredibly impressive pair of records which play to their highest possible standard with great clarity, no groove-wear, no distortion and are critically graded MINT- for audio - an outstanding copy - the finest I have heard and one very highly recommended indeed
SLEEVE: The original matt 'Dr Phang' gatefold cover is in EXCELLENT(+) condition. All edges are crisp and square with no real storage wear to speak of and the surfaces (inside and outside) are clean and unmarked. The only thing reducing the grading is some light age-related discolouration on the white spine (all text is clear and bold) and a small crease to the bottom opening corner (very minor)
INNER SLEEVES: The two matt inner sleeves are both in practically untouched condition - clean, fresh and unmarked with no splits to either the bottom or side edges (which is extremely rare for these thin, delicate inners) - MINT-
