Description
This first press of Animals is in amazing condition for 37 years old and is definitely the best I have seen and heard. Even under a bright light I cannot detect any hairlines and it has obviously hardly been played and has been looked after extremely well. It retains that wonderful glossy sheen of new vinyl. Side One plays with near perfect audio apart from slight crackle at the beginning of 'Pigs On The Wing (Part One)'. The remainder plays as Mint it is that good. Side Two is even better! The clarity of the sound is simply stunning. This vinyl is almost 'as new' and for a first press is very rare to find. I very rarely grade vinyls as Mint but this is as near as you will come to finding that. I cannot stress how just good this first press is and would be a fantastic addition for the die-hard fan.
Play tested on my Technics SL-J110R turntable system.

The original Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition and has retained its shape extremely well. There is no major wear at all just slight rubbing to the top and bottom of the spine and a little white 'spotting' towards the top of the cover. There is a very small mark by the chimney on the left hand side and some wear on the bottom of the spine but aside from that it is in wonderful condition and again is one of the best I have seen. It has very clean edges and retains a strong wide spine. The inside of the gatefold looks great also apart from that pinching at the bottom of the spine.
The lyric inner is in stunning condition with no wear at all which is rare. It has the curved corners denoting a first press.
Overall this is a quality first press and would grace any collection.

The gatefold cover is Ex++ (almost Near Mint-)

ALL RECORDS ARE PROFESSIONALLY PACKED IN STRONG MAILERS WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS. THE RECORDS ARE ALSO REMOVED FROM THEIR SLEEVES TO AVOID CUTTING THROUGH THE COVER AND PUT INTO A SEPARATE SLEEVE, AND THEN PLACED INSIDE A PVC SLEEVE.
