PINK FLOYD LP ATOM HEART MOTHER SHVL 781 1ST PRESS GATEFOLD SLEEVE 1970
On offer is a 1st press PINK FLOYD LP entitled ATOM HEART MOTHER released in the UK in STEREO on HARVEST SHVL 781 in 1970.
This LP is identified as a true 1stpress as it has ‘The Gramophone…’ text on the label rim and the ‘Harvest’ credit on the left hand side of the label… [the later 2nd pressings had a boxed EMI logo above‘Harvest’ and are not as collectable as the 1st pressing offered for sale in this auction].
The condition of this 1stpress Pink Floyd LP is EX-/EX- as follows:
• The GATEFOLD LP SLEEVE - is in nice EX- condition – [it has been kept in a plastic sleeve for many years which has protected it]. The LP spine is nice and firm.
• The DISC label is EX+ and is very clean and clear.
• The DISC is visually in nice EX/EX- condition: with a lovely sheen to the vinyl. There are a few minor hairline marks not affecting play whatsoever. The disc has its original Harvest label inner sleeve [with pictures of other LPs available at the time]. The disc has been housed in a plain white inner since I owned it - so that the original inner is protected. All 4 inners will be supplied to the winner.
• I have just test-played the LP and it plays beautifully with a full dynamic range on my BOSE stereo hi-fi –especially on side 1 – Atom Heart Mother – with some occasional surface noise audible on side 2 during the quiet passages of ‘Alan’s Psychedelic breakfast.`
Overall this is a very nice EX-/EX-example of a first press ATOM HEART MOTHER which has been well looked after over the years and has been kept protected in a plastic sleeve.
