This is an original rare copy of the 1973 'The Dark Side of the Moon' album by Pink Floyd
Please note: I am selling this from a record collection passed down to me from a member of my family. I am a private seller and therefore can only describe the records quality as I see it, I am not a dealer or expert on record collections.

I AM SELLING A 1ST PRESS COPY OF A VERY RARE ALBUM WITH THE SOLID BLUE TRIANGLE AND AN OUTSTANDING SLEEVE

MATRIX: SHVL804 A-2 / B-2
MOTHERS/STAMPERS:GAA / GAR OR GAH
THE VERY FIRST PRESS OF THIS ALBUM HAD THE SOLID BLUE TRIANGLE IN THE CENTRE OF THE LABEL, WHICH WAS VERY QUICKLY WITHDRAWN DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE SILVER TYPEFACE COULD NOT BE READ AND WAS LATER REPLACED WITH THE OUTLINE LABEL.
IT IS WELL DOCUMENTED THAT THE FIRST ISSUE SLEEVES WERE A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT COLOUR TO THE MORE COMMON REISSUES. THE SURFACE WAS A DELICATE POWDERY MATT BLUE BLACK FINISH AS OPPOSED TO THE SHINY JET BLACK FINISH OF THE REISSUES. AS A RESULT THE FIRST ISSUE SLEEVES WERE VERY EASY TO DAMAGE AND MANY COPIES WILL BE FOUND VERY SHELF WORN.
THE VINYL
THIS VINYL HAS SOME HANDLING MARKS, HAIRLINES AND OTHER MARKS VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE AND THE CONDITION SHOWS IT HAS BEEN PLAYED AND OF COURSE ENJOYED.
THE SLEEVE
NON LAMINTED GATEFOLD SLEEVE
THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE TO FIND IN ANYTHING LIKE A COLLECTIBLE CONDITION. USUALLY THE COLOURS ARE BADLY RUBBED AND THE CREASE LINES AROUND THE SPINE AND PERIMETER EDGES MAKE THE WHOLE THING LOOK SHABBY
THE SLEEVE IS THE CORRECT BLUE/BLACK ORIGINAL 1ST ISSUE IN A VERY COLLECTIBLE CONDITION WITH ONLY SOME WEAR INDICATIVE OF AGE AND USE MAINLY AT THE CORNERS AND ALONG ONE EDGE (I HAVE TRIED TO SHOW THIS IN MY PHOTOS) THE COLOURS ARE BRIGHT AND NOT FADED AND THERE ARE NO REALLY HEAVY CREASES, THE SPINE IS IN ESPECIALLY GOOD CONDITION.
THE BOTTOM EDGE WHICH WOULD USUALLY BE FOUND BADLY RUBBED, HAS VITUALLY NO COLOUR LOSS. THERE IS SOME SIGN OF THE GLUED FLAP ALONG THE FRONT EDGE AGAIN INDICATIVE OF AGE AND WEAR.
THE REAR SURFACE OF THIS SLEEVE IS IN THE SAME CONDITION AS THE FRONT, WITH JUST THE BAREST SHADOW OF RECORD SHAPE NEAR THE TOP
THE INSIDE IS YET AGAIN IN GOOD CONDITION WITH STRONG COLOURS AND MINIMAL WEAR WHERE THE RECORD IS.
THE ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVE IS INCLUDED AND IS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH NO SEAM SPLITS BUT THE SLEEVE DOES HAVE SOME CREASE LINES WHERE IT HAS SAT INSIDE THE OUTER SLEEVE IN A SLIGHTLY CREASED STATE FOR SOME YEARS.. IT IS THE CORRECT INNER FOR THIS SET WITH THE PATENT NUMBERS IN THE BOTTOM LEFT CORENR, AND 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN' ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT SIDE
UNFORTUNATELY, THE ALBUM IS WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL POSTER AND STICKERS BUT THIS DOESN'T DIMINISH THE COLLECTABILITY OF THIS RARE ALBUM FOR THE QUALITY OF IT'S SLEEVE ETC.
