PINK FLOYD "MEDDLE" EARLY UK PRESSING. CRACKING EXAMPLE

On sale here is a lovely UK pressing of the iconic 1971 album from Pink Floyd entitled "Meddle". This copy has a great textured cover and lovely vinyl. See details below that show it to be an early pressing, with very low mothers (both are "2") and very low stampers ( AD and AA ).

This a beautiful, well cared for and hardly played album from my personal collection. I can see NO spindle marks to either side. This example really has been very lightly played.

So a few details on the album itself.............................

(All gradings are strictly to "Record Collector" guidelines. Shown in detail below).

The cover is in a great condition. There is almost storage wear at all. There is a small rub area to the top edge of the rear of the gatefold and half a dozen tiny rub spots at the bottom of the rear. These are all pretty insignificant. The only other issue is some age discolouration on the inner gatefold. Still a very nice genuine textured cover and grades at least as VG+. Strictly graded.

The inner sleeve is the original generic white type, with some creasing at the corners. No damage to any of the seams. Grades as VG+.

The vinyl is in a quite superb condition. This is a real beauty of a disc. I must admit that it could use a light clean. There are no marks worthy of calling, more some light finger prints / handling marks that will easily clean off. Side 2 label has some spotting on it from age. Nothing serious. This vinyl has no scratches or marks. a seriously nice vinyl. Grades visually as excellent.

The matrices are A6 (mother / stamper combination is 2 / AD)  and B5 (mother / stamper combination is 2 / AA). These are very low mothers and stampers for this album.

The audio presentation is really excellent. The whole album plays through with no problems. It is a very quiet playback too for an album that is notoriously renowned for being noisy. There are many quiet passages that benefit from this lack of background noise and this copy does not disappoint on that score. Audio reproduction is sweet and dynamic. Plays with great depth, feel and detail. Certainly one of the best copies I have heard in many a year. As a sound quality grading, it would have to merit a comfortable excellent. Hard to better.

So an early UK pressing with all its parts in great condition and sounding wonderful. Bid on this and you will not be disappointed, trust me.

Please note that the above vinyl has been play tested and graded according to "The Record Collector" guidelines. These guidelines are listed for your information below:-

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."

As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
