Description
PINK FLOYD
MEDDLE
Japanese Red-Vinyl original issue LP released in 1971 on the Odeon label.
Catalogue number: OP-80375
This is the first pressing of this incredible album released in 1971 which highlighted their potential to do great things (as they did when Dark Side of the Moon was released). The original red vinyl pressings were manufactured in limited numbers, generally around 500-600 copies, before the black vinyl pressings were made.
Condition:
The record visually is in excellent condition with just some very light surface marks that can only be detected under bright light. There are no scratches on it at all.
The labels are both clean and near mint
Sleeve:
There is a 4-5 inch split on the top spine of the sleeve but is otherwise in excellent condition.
The 2 inserts, an 8-page booklet and a colour insert are both in superb condition.
The OBI, sadly, is a replica as the original one got torn somehow. It is quite a true likeness though.
This is an incredibly rare record that is an absolute must for any serious Pink Floyd collector.
I am having a large clear out of my Pink Floyd & related collection, check out my other items and keep looking for the next couple of weeks.
Notes:
Nearly all original album releases on Odeon Records, from The Piper at the Gates of Dawn through Meddle, were released in very limited editions on red vinyl (it is generally accepted that only 500-600 copies of each of these albums were pressed on red vinyl). These dark red vinyl releases were pressings on Everclean vinyl, a higher quality of vinyl that was developed and patented by Toshiba Musical Industries in 1957. Everclean vinyl is much more static resistant and dust resistant than regular black vinyl.
