Description
Pink Floyd : Soundtrack from the film 'More' 1G /1G 1st Press Green Tinted Cover (West Facing)
This album plays to a fantastic standard with no obvious intrusion on the audio. There are no clicks or pops and the clarity throughout is stunning. It has only been lightly played judging by the audio quality and the minimal spindle wear.
This is known as the third variation of the first pressing as it has two EMI logos on each label. It still has the rare and collectable cover with the green tint and west facing couple on the back.
The cover itself is in excellent order with only a little shelf wear and the EMI inner sleeve is in superb condition.
Royal Mail shipping costs have massively increased recently and these are shown below. Please could you wait before making payment so I can calculate the exact cost.

Play grading
The 'birdsong' intro on 'Cirrus Minor' is stunning. It plays so clearly you would think you were outside! There are just a couple of barely audible dust ticks prior to the acoustic guitar coming in but it's been a long a long time since I heard this super quiet intro play so well. The vocal sections play with great clarity also and the long instrumental section and fade out have no clicks or pops and just the merest hint of light static. This is a fine Near Mint version to start proceedings.
A slight change in tone! 'The Nile Song' plays with a power and depth that cannot be faulted. There is no interference and for once there is no distortion. You could not wish for stronger playback. Mint-
The quiet intro on 'Crying Song' again plays very clearly with only a couple of light ticks, they are not clicks! From then on it the clarity is outstanding! There is no intrusion and for a record that is close to 50 years old to play with such definition is a real rarity. A beautiful Near Mint version for sure but, as I often say, the majority is better than that.
'Up The Khyber' is Mint from the slow build on the intro right through to the final note. It could not play any better.
Another serious test for this vinyl and the delicate 'Green Is The Colour' is another track that defies its age! From start to finish the clarity and warmth of the audio is exceptional. Needless to say there is no interference and qualifies as Mint...again.
'Cymbaline' is so close to being of the same 'high end' standard. There is no real intrusion, just a couple of light ticks, and just a minimal touch of light static that is very much in the background. Hardly worth a mention really! This is Near Mint in my opinion.
'Party Sequence' ends the side with no interference. With just a touch of barely audible static this is Mint- which for any final track is damn good!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Main Theme' has only the lightest of static on the quiet intro, more the needle running over the grooves really! The entire intro is nigh on perfect and once Mason joins in the playback is indeed 'as new'. It continues to play with breathtaking quality and again there are no negatives. A couple of dust ticks and a minimal amount of light static on the fade but Near Mint is fair and perhaps deserves a higher grade.
'Ibiza Bar' is stunning from the word go and every second of this 'high octane' track plays with great power and depth. Once more there is distortion and it grades as Mint
The quiet intro on 'More Blues' has no interference and continues to play with superb precision. There are just a couple of light ticks near the end but it would be hard to find a better version. Near Mint
The intro on 'Quicksilver' is absolutely stunning! There is no 'background' and thereafter plays with amazing clarity. Yes there are a couple of very light static ticks but I have not heard this super quiet instrumental play with such dexterity and precision. There are no clicks or pops and with only a handful of dust ticks the playback is so good. It's rare to find a Near Mint version but we have one here :-)
'A Spanish Piece' has one light tick literally right at the beginning and then plays flawlessly. Mint-
'Dramatic Theme' ends the album with wonderful quality once more. There is no interference aside from a minimal (very minimal!) amount of non-intrusive distortion on the guitar. It is still a Near Mint finish in my opinion.
In summary this very collectable album plays to a superb standard with barely any 'background'. There are no clicks, pops or crackle and to be honest no obvious static either. There is the odd dust tick but there is nothing that intrudes on the audio quality. For the large part there is barely any 'sound' between the tracks again showing how impressive the clarity is here. A stunning album for sure.
Visual grading
The vinyl has a lovely glossy sheen and appears to have only been lightly played, there is only very minimal spindle wear. There are no scratches on either side and S1 in particular is stunning and I can only detect a couple of faint hairlines. S2 does have one faint hairline scuff and a small congregation of light marks but none of these have any affect on the audio. The run out grooves are also very clean with only one small area of faint marking on S2.
The Cover
The laminated cover with the green tinted west facing rear sleeve is in excellent condition with only a little shelf wear. The edges have no rubbing and the pinched spine has only a little wear on the corners and obviously remains 100% legible. The right hand corners and opening edge have only minimal wear. The laminated front cover has no damage as such just some light creasing mainly around the edges and the back cover is very clean with no marking and it is only the flipbacks that hav a little staining on the edges which is common. Apart from that the flipbacks are in excellent shape and remain firmly attached to the cover. Overall an excellent example of this increasingly rare cover.
The Inner Sleeve
The die-cut EMI inner is in superb order with no side splits, no marking and very little creasing. I'm not exactly sure though if this is the original inner.
The Labels
The two EMI box labels have no marking or writing and as stated hardly any spindle wear. Superb!
