Pink Floyd : soundtrack from the film 'More' 1G/1G One EMI box / Facing West Green Tinted Cover
This very early pressing plays to a fantastic standard with no interference on either side. As always I have play tested it in full and I can categorically say I have never heard this album playing with such clarity and precision. The audio is just exceptional! Based on the audio and the immaculate visual quality this can only have been played a couple of times at most. It has that 'as new' look with no marking and a glorious glossy sheen. This is easily a FINAL UPGRADE pressing, a time-warp classic that you could not improve upon.
This is officially a second pressing even though it has the 1G/1G matrix and just one EMI box on each label. It is because it has 'Made In Gt. Britain' at the bottom of each label rather than 'Made in GT Britain - Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions. See price lists' which you see on the first pressings.
It still has the 'first press' cover where the back is tinted green and the couple are facing west. The cover incidentally is in great condition with only very minimal wear. The original inner is also in superb order.

Visual grading
It doesn't get a lot better than this! The vinyl is pristine with an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen and 'as new' is a worthy description. I would say it has been played once, perhaps twice at most and then stored so well so as to preserve its original quality. There are obviously no marks or scratches and I can only detect a couple of ultra faint hairlines but even they are very difficult to find! It really is a beautiful record! There is no groove wear and the run out grooves are also perfectly clean as are the labels which only one have tiny spindle trace on each. A stunning example!
Play grading
The 'birdsong' intro on 'Cirrus Minor' plays with stunning clarity when you consider how quiet it is. There is barely any static and you can easily hear the cuckoo in the background which shows just how good the clarity is here. This standard is kept up as the vocal begins and it continues to play with exceptional quality with each note so clean and precise. Already you tell this vinyl has hardly been played and I have no hesitation in grading it as Mint- such is the quality. The vocals are 'as new' and each instrumental section plays beautifully. There are no ticks, clicks or pops and this truly is a fantastic start to this often overlooked album.
'The Nile Song' plays with tremendous power from the very start and this quality is maintained to very end. For such a 'high octane' track you would expect some distortion but not here. The playback is unbelievably clean and 'fresh' sounding this just has to be graded as Mint I have never heard better. No 'background' on the fade out either.
The super quiet intro on 'Crying Song' is almost perfect with only a couple of minor static ticks and the first vocal is exactly that, perfect. It proceeds to play with a clarity that defies its age with no sign of any interference. Not bad for a very quiet song! Mint-
'Up The Khyber' is 'as new' from the first note to the last. Stunning definition of sound here - each note is somehow enhanced with greater definition. Another Mint track.
'Green Is The Colour' plays beautifully for such a quiet number. I cannot believe the audio quality - you would expect some 'background' but no the clarity is absolutely STUNNING in every way. Mint
The intro on 'Cymbaline' plays with breathtaking clarity and proceeds in the same precise way with literally no interference. This truly is audio of the highest calibre and so far there has not been one click or pop and no static either. The sonic quality is equal to that of an un-played record and Mint is again deserved. A couple of dust ticks towards the end but that hardly qualifies as interference!
'Party Sequence' ends the side with, you guessed it, perfect clarity from start to finish. No need to elaborate. Mint

The long intro on 'Main Theme' is again so clean. There was hardly any static to begin with and having played it three times it disappeared completely! The stylus doing a fine self-cleaning job. As the percussion comes in the audio is flawless and this instrumental continues to play with STUNNING clarity to the very end. It is the audio definition that again leaves me dumbstruck! No ticks, no clicks, no pops, no jumps, no skips, no static. Just pure unadulterated Mint- audio.
'Ibiza Bar' plays as per 'The Nile Song' on S1 with a power and depth that cannot be faulted. An outstanding Mint version with no distortion and another immaculate fade out.
The intro on 'More Blues' is so close to perfect with just one light static tick and from then on plays with wonderful precision. If you're lucky enough to win just listen to the power on Mason's louder drum notes. Stunning. Another Mint- track.
The 'intro' on 'Quicksilver' has no 'background' and there are only 2/3 insignificant dust ticks as the music starts. Once more the clarity here is unbelievable! So quiet and yet there is no intrusion on the audio at all. It continues with such precision and this is of course a very quiet instrumental. No clicks or pops anywhere! There is one very light static sound but overall a Mint- grade is more than justified. The audio is STUNNING and then some!
We're seeing a theme running through the album now and 'A Spanish Piece' once again impresses with no interference, not even a dust tick. Mint
'Dramatic Theme' ends the album with a quality that can only be described 'as new'. You know the grade...
In summary sometimes I have to give it a little thought as to whether an album qualifies as a FINAL UPGRADE pressing. This took me about one nanosecond!! This is without doubt the finest 'More' I have ever listened to and it is no exaggeration to say the sonic quality is 'as new' on both sides. I do not over-grade as my regulars will testify and the clarity and depth of the audio is quite simply on another level here. When you find such a clean vinyl it is almost like the notes are 'lengthened' almost, there is definitely a greater precision and obviously no 'muddiness' to the sound. This truly is a time-classic and just one look at the vinyl suggests it is going to play well! It is visually stunning and as stated there is only one barely visible spindle trace on each label. What an album!
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The G&L green tinted cover is in excellent condition with only very minimal shelf wear. The edges have no rubbing and the thin pinched spine is unmarked apart from very minimal wear on the corners. The right hand corners are also very clean with barely any wear and the opening edge is pristine. The laminated front cover is undamaged and has just one minor laminate crease on 'pink' and just a little creasing in the top and bottom left corners. The back cover has no marking apart from a little staining on the flipbacks but is so much less than what you usually see. The actual green tinted section is stunning which is very impressive when you consider it isn't laminated. The flipbacks remain firmly attached to the cover and have no wear apart from one tiny 'nick' next to the spine. A superb example overall.
The original inner is also in great condition and has no side splits or tears, no marking and hardly any creasing.
