HERE WE HAVE AN EXCELLENT, UK HARVEST (SHVL 795) FIRST ISSUE (November 13, 1971) OF PINK FLOYD'S BREATHTAKING "Meddle" LP

PRESSED ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL WITH DEEP CUT GROOVES WHICH DELIVER ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING AUDIO!!!!
THE FIRST HARVEST LABELS HAVE THE "Gramophone Co Ltd." RIM TEXT (first issues ONLY on later presses this was replaced by "EMI Records Ltd.")
AND THE LP IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL FIRST ISSUE FULLY TEXTURED (inside as well as outside), SOFT BACKED, GATEFOLD SLEEVE "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.". FACTORY SEALED ON THE LEFT SIDE EDGE. THE INSIDE IS ALSO DATED CODED '7110' WHICH INDICATES THIS COVER WAS PRINTED IN OCTOBER 1971, JUST BEFORE THE RELEASE IN NOVEMBER OF THAT YEAR
THE RECORD COME COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL HARVEST, POLY LINED, COMPANY INNER SLEEVE (now a bit of a rarity in itself!!!)

THERE ARE SOME SPECIAL CRITERIA WHICH MARK THIS COPY OUT AS A FIRST ISSUE:
Front Cover: Soundwaves on an ear. Textured inside and out. Thin SOFT card construction
Inside Cover: In the lower right corner, it says "File under POPULAR: Pop Groups, 7110 TPS Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. SHVL 795, Patent No. 1224339" (first issues only)
Inner Sleeves: Issued with a Harvest Records Company inner sleeve (first issues only)
Labels: Yellow-green Harvest label. At the bottom of the label, it says "Made in GT Britain."Text around the top edge of the label starts at 10 o'clock and says: The Gramophone Co., Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 8 o'clock and says: Unauthorized public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited.

LABELS: The 1st HARVEST labels are in SUPERB condition with NO wear, NO writing and only a few light spindle traces
VINYL Visual: The record lies perfectly flat on the turntable and both surfaces have their original DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN!! There are a few superficial marks, especially on Side Two which has some pressing blemishes (misting) but these have NO real audio consequence WHATSOEVER!! Visually VG+
VINYL Audio: SUPERB - CRYSTAL CLEAR, SHARP, STRONG and VIBRANT!! BEAUTIFUL RICH AUDIO!! There are NO scratches, NO skips/jumps, just a little surface noise - a touch on the quiet middle section of 'Echoes' and between a couple of the tracks on Side One and on the quiet intro to "One Of These Days" but nothing I found too intrusive on playing this MASTERPIECE!!! The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO groove-wear and NO distortion!!!! Play graded a very strict VERY GOOD+ for audio and NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'about me' page)
SLEEVE: The original 1st issue GATEFOLD cover is in SUPERB condition!! CRISP, CLEAN and FRESH!! There is virtually NO edge wear to speak of and the textured surfaces are FACTORY FRESH and UNRUBBED!! All the text on the spine is CLEAR and SHARP!! BEAUTIFUL 1st PRESS SLEEVE!!!

THIS REALLY IS AN EXCELLENT COPY AND AS AN ORIGINAL 1971 FIRST UK ISSUE IN ITS ORIGINAL, TEXTURED GATEFOLD SLEEVE AND COMPLETE WITH ITS ORIGINAL HARVEST COMPANY INNER SLEEVE - VERY SCARCE!!
