RARE first UK pressing of Pink Floyd`s "Soundtrack From The Film "More"", released on Columbia Records (June 1969).
"Soundtracks are often a dicey deal, producing on command a pale imitation of an artist's original hue or indulging delusions of grandeur by dressing their sometimes humble muse in orchestral robes. Not so More, which sticks close to the plan established for their studio albums: soporific ballads, psychedelic sandstorms, and eerie instrumental noodling. It's not up to the level of A Saucerful of Secrets -- the band wasn't going to waste their best ideas on a film no one was going to see -- but it is closer to the genuine article than you would expect." - daveconn for progarchives.com
GRADING:
EX++ COVER. UK first-pressing front-laminated sleeve with light wear. Please see photos for details.
- Original flipback-type rear sleeve, as found on early pressings only.
- Very light record imprint on front cover.
- Original first-pressing pinched spine with "Pink Floyd" lettering and two or three small creases.
- Green-tinted rear cover photo with west-facing couple.
- No custom-printed EMI Records inner sleeve, sorry.
MINT- RECORD, carefully played a few times at most. Near-perfect audio reproduction throughout.
- Two or three superficial hairlines from sleeve removal only.
- A bit of sporadic background crackle in between (some) tracks.
- Original first-pressing black-and-silver Columbia Records labels with one EMI box and "Made in Gt. Britain" lettering at bottom.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "YAX 3868 1-G" and "YAX 3869 1-G", indicating a UK first pressing.
- Mothers/Stampers: "1 / G O" on Side One and "- / R H" on Side Two.
- This record is fully certified to be an original UK first pressing of "Soundtrack From The Film "More"", released in June 1969.
PLEASE NOTE: Not to be compared with the more-often-than-not substandard vinyl on offer on eBay UK, this item is in honestly-graded MINT- condition. You will NOT find another original first pressing of "More" as nice as this one - especially at this bargain price: "True value for money" is the motto here!
