I am selling some of the records I've had for many years in my great collection. PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN was the very first LP by Pink Floyd. It should be considered as one of the greatest first LP's by any band in rock history, and is dominated by the vision and psychedelia of Syd Barrett. It's a triumph of British 60's psych, and would influence art and prog bands for another decade including Pink Floyd themselves. Even up to Wish you were here in 1974, the remaining members of Pink Floyd were still strongly feeling the influence and trying to live up to the promise of Pipers. I own the US, Japanese, UK, and German pressings of this seminal LP. This German stereo pressing in my opinion sounds better than the US press, but not quite as great as the first UK Blue/Silver label pressing. Of course that UK pressing is nearly impossible to find in a NM-Mint condition, and not at this price range... The band simply wasn't selling huge numbers of Pipers, and the people who did buy it played it to death....It certainly became a holy grail LP over time. The cover front and rear are shiny and show some small signs of wear. There are no split seams, and the spine is perfect. The labels show no sign of wear, and are beautiful. The vinyl shows the full shine as if it was just opened, and is in pristine playing condition. The stereo sound is beautiful with various sounds jumping between speakers.
I love original original pressings because I feel every LP is of it's time and place. The vinyl, and record pressings are all from that moment in time, and no re-pressing or re-mastering will ever make the sound better for me. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER LPS FOR SALE NOW ON EBAY.
