PINK FLOYD - PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN
Vinyl LP: Columbia SX 6157
MONO 1st Pressing , early stampers
Side 1 Matrix XAX 3419 – 2 P 1
Side 2 Matrix XAX 3420 – 1 G 1
Side 1 label has embossed KT tax code.
Disc: Still retains a good sheen. There are numerous hairlines under bright light, and two or three that could be called a scratch but nothing has a major effect on play. No skips or jumps or loud pops. There is some light crackle, but this is by no means constant, and when present in no way overpowers the music. On “Interstellar Overdrive” some slight distortion is to be heard at times, but not constant. Overall I would play grade as VG.
Labels: Generally in excellent shape. On side 1 there is evidence of a removed sticker (i.e. very small area of slightly puckered surface, but surface is not broken). Spindle trails are evident in the right light. No unwanted writing or marks.
Sleeve: Solid VG. Has some laminate creases and very minor wear to open edge. The faintest ring wear is only visible at certain angles.Top right corner there is small remains of a (presumably price) sticker. The rear is a little grubby in places . No ring wear on rear. Spine and top and bottom edges are in excellent condition (see pictures) with no splits or rubbing. No writing or other marks. There is no printing on the flipback top right, only the very first issue was like this. On the bottom flipback right it states: "6709 TPS Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London SX 6157 / SCX 6157."
Inner: Not original, but has age.
(There are shadows and reflections in the picture.)

PACKAGING: Vinyl records are packaged for shipment in professional high quality Record Mailers. A minimum of 2 strong card stiffeners are inserted . Records are removed from the outer sleeve (and inner sleeve if this is not of a generic variety) to prevent sleeve edge splits. Mailers are marked “FRAGILE”, and “PLEASE DO NOT BEND” front and back.
Grading:
Please note I try to play all records. Where I think it is warranted I will give specific details of sound quality in the item description.
In the description grading is given as cover/vinyl.
Mint minus (M-) cover – like new, with no defects vinyl – like new, likely played only a few times, no surface marks, no sound defects
Excellent (EX) cover – shows signs of minor wear & creasing vinyl – slight superficial marks that do not affect play
Very Good (VG) cover – normal wear & tear on the cover, light ring wear for example vinyl – shows marks & light scratches that do not have a major effect on the sound quality
Good (G) cover – has scuffing of edges, ring wear, large split spine etc vinyl – scratches and scuffs, will play thru but there will be surface noise and/or pops and clicks.
A + or - indicates minor variations in grading.
