THIS IS AN AUCTION FOR THE DEBUT LP BY PINK FLOYD ENTITLED "PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN".THIS IS A FIRST PRESSING RELEASED IN 1967 IN THE UK ON COLUMBIA RECORDS IN RAREST MONO CATALOGUE  NUMBER SCX 6157 WITH THE VERY EARLY MOTHER STAMPERS OF 1GG/1GO AND WITH THE BLUE WRITING ON BLACK LABELS. THE MATRIX NUMBERS ARE XAX 3419-2 AND XAX 3420-1.

THE ORIGINAL TRIPLE FLIPBACK E.J.DAY SLEEVE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND IS DEFINATELY ONE OF THE BETTER EXAMPLES FOR THIS LP. THERE IS SOME  LIGHT CREASING AND VERY LIGHT RINGWEAR, BUT THE FRONT STILL HAS A LOVELY SHEEN AND THE COLOURS ARE STILL CLEAR AND VIBRANT.  THERE IS SOME VERY VERY LIGHT STORAGE WEAR TO THE CORNERS BUT THE SPINE LOOKS CLEAN AND CRISP WITH THE NAME OF THE BAND VERY CLEAR. THERE ARE ONE OR TWO VERY SMALL AREAS OF WEAR ON THE REAR BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE THIS IS STILL AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE FOR AN LP THAT IS 43 YEARS OLD. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTO'S.

THE VINYL ALSO LOOKS REALLY NICE.  SIDE 1 IS VISUALLY IN EXCELLENT  CONDITION WITH ONE SMALL SUPERFICIAL SCUFF OVER "ASTRONOMY DOMINE" AND ONE OR TWO SLEEVE REMOVAL TYPE MARKS EVIDENT UNDER LIGHT.  THE CONDITION OF THE VINYL ON SIDE 1 IS REFLECTED IN THE AUDIO WHICH IS ALSO EXCELLENT. SIDE 1 PLAYS THROUGH WITHOUT ANY SKIPS OR JUMPS .THERE IS SOME VERY LIGHT BACKGROUND NOISE AND WHEN PLAYED AT VERY HIGH VOLUME THERE IS SOME SLIGHT DISTORTION AT ONE OR TWO POINTS BUT COSIDERING THE AGE IT WAS STILL A GREAT LISTEN. SIDE 2 IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH SOME LIGHT MARKS, NOTHING SERIOUS. THE AUDIO IS ALSO VERY GOOD WITH SLIGHTLY MORE BACKGROUND NOISE THAN ON SIDE 1 AND ONE OR TWO VERY LIGHT CLICKS. AS ON SIDE 1 THERE IS SOME SLIGHT DISTORTION IN CERTAIN PARTS AT VERY HIGH VOLUME BUT THIS IS  COMMON  WITH THIS LP. OVERALL VERY NICE AUDIO.

THE LABELS ARE IN AT LEAST VERY GOOD+ CONDITION  AND FREE FROM WRITING . SIDE 1 HAS THE "K T" TAX CODE STAMPED OVER THE SPINDLE HOLE.

THE LP COMES WITH ITS ORIGINAL HARVEST INNER SLEEVE. THE LP WILL BE SENT IN A NEW INNER SLEEVE AND SEPERATED FROM THE MAIN SLEEVE TO AVOID TEARS.

OVERALL A GREAT RECORD IN VERY NICE CONDITION.

The Lp will be sent in professional mailers and will be sent in the Uk at a cost of  £3.00. The cost of postage in Europe is £8.00 which includes international signed for delivery as mandatory . Anyone bidding who does not have feedback will have their bid cancelled straight away. I am very sorry about this but again this is due to problems experienced in the past. Anyone without feedback and who wants to bid please contact me first.

Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced
