 THE PINK FLOYD

THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN

UK 1967 COLUMBIA STEREO SCX 6157

YAX  3419 - 1- GA

YAX  3420 - 1- GA

Here is a superb uk copy of Pink Floyd's musically fantastic and essential 1967 debut psych-rock album. This is a EX++/NM condition slightly later uk pressing with the '-1 -1' matrix endings. The early black/silver columbia labels have just 1 x EMI boxed logo, they also have the very early 'GRAMOPHONE CO LTD' & ''MADE IN GT.BRITAIN-SOLD IN THE UK-SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS'' rim text. This very early second uk pressing looks superb and has has been barely played at all. The front laminated flip-back cover is also in really excellent very clean and tidy condition and the original EMI advertising inner sleeve is also in great shape with no defects. This is just a brilliant clean copy of one of the best and most essential late sixties psych albums ever released.

STEREO VINYL = EX++/NM

Both sides of the record are visually in really superb EX++ to NM very clean condition, the vinyl still has a really excellent original sheen showing barely any signs of play at all, there are no bad marks scuffs or scratches, the most you will see are some very hard to spot very light sleeve withdrawal traces that are mainly only visible in much stronger light, i can also see just one extremely light wispy top surface line on the very long instrumental track ''Interstellar Overdive'', this really is hard to see and you have to actually angle the vinyl towards a certain light to even see it, this fine wispy mark is so light that it has no affect on play. All tracks play really excellent throughout with barely and light crackle at all. This album has obviously only ever had just very limited very careful play since new so there is no lessoning in the sound quality at all. This vinyl looks, plays and sounds superb and will not disappoint in any way.

1 EMI BOX COLUMBIA LABELS = NM

The early black/silver columbia labels are still in very near perfect condition. There are no marks or areas of wear and barely any signs at all that the album has been played. As already mentioned, these labels have just one boxed EMI logo and they also have all the very early rim text.

FRONT LAMINATED FLIP-BACK SLEEVE = EX

The front laminated flip-back sleeve was made and printed in the uk by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. This cover is in really excellent very clean and tidy condition and has no bad or unsightly faults at all. The front lamination still has a superb very glossy finish and so reflects as new, there are just a couple of small very light lamination shifts close to the opening edge. The white matt back is still nice and clean with just very minimal light signs of ageing/discolouration and the three flip-backs are also very clean with just a few very light creases to the one running along the spine. The top/bottom and opening edges and the spine are just about perfect with no wear and all spine text is very clear and easy to read. This front laminated flip-back cover just looks in great condition.

ORIGINAL EMI ADVERTISING INNER = EX

The original EMI advertising paper inner sleeve is in excellent clean condition, there are no seem splits or rips and only minimal signs of handling and creasing.

I pack my records very well, the album will be removed from the outer cover to avoid seem/edge splits in transit, plenty of rigid cardboard support will be used to avoid corners bending, this album will reach you in the same condition as advertised.
