Probably the best and most musically consistent and essential psychedelic rock album ever recorded.

This is a near impossible to find excellent++ condition 1967 STEREO 1st pressing of PINK FLOYD's debut psych album,i am unsure about the history of original UK 1967 MONO/STEREO pressings but original MONO copies seem to outnumber STEREO copies by around 50 to 1 yet record collector state that MONO issues are rarer,i think they have got their information wrong about this LP.

This is a really excellent++ very clean and shiny tidy copy that plays superbly well throughout.

 VINYL = EXCELLENT++/NEAR MINT

Both sides of the vinyl are in very clean and shiny condition indeed and only display a couple (2) extremely faint very hard to see wispy lines on side one and some very tiny light marks caused by the record being removed from the paper inner sleeve,side 2 looks near perfect and is free of any marks,the 2 extremely light lines on side 1 are hardly worth mentioning and are superficial and do not affect the playing of the record,the vinyl actually looks in near mint condition as there are no scratches,scuffs or nasty visible marks at all,a really brilliant copy that plays and sounds just as good as it looks.

Both sides play absolutely superbly well with barely even a light hiss or crackle as background noise,even between tracks and on quieter moments you will not hear any annoying loud surface noise and it actually plays very close to new,the sound quality is fantastic and clear and free of any distortion,it just sounds fantastic from the start of the quiet radio/megaphone intro of the opening track ''Astronomy Domine'' on side one to the strange duck noises at the end of the track ''Bike'' at the end of side 2,the entire album plays and sounds superb throughout,the great long track ''Interstellar Overdrive'' stereo phasing sounds incredible as does Syd Barrett's excellent crystal clear vocals coming from both speakers on the catchy psych pop track ''Flaming'',the whole album just plays and sounds superb with excellent stereo clarity free of off-putting surface noise.this is a real very clean collectors keeper copy.

BLUE/BLACK COLUMBIA STEREO LABELS = NEAR MINT

Both labels are near perfect as there are just 2 or 3 very small light spindle traces only,i don't believe this rare Pink Floyd album has had many plays at all over the last 39 years,a couple of spindle traces only and a distortion free crisp listening experience gives this away.the spindle hole is still excellent and free of wear.

ERNEST.J.DAY CO TRI FLIPBACK SLEEVE = EX

The single front laminated Ernest J.Day & Co tri-flipback sleeve is in a very nice excellent clean condition and completely free of unsightly defects,the front just has a few light lamination creases otherwise it's in brilliant condition,the edges,spine and flipbacks are straight and strong and crease and crack free and are in great condition,the covers opening edge is also in really excellent condition and it is straight and crisp and free of any creasing and feathering.

The grey matt rear sleeve is in really excellent clean blemish free condition,a very large percentage of these original sleeves always seem to have a very grubby stained worn appearance but this back cover still has a great consistent clean grey colour free of stains,blotches,writing and ring wear,if you look at the photograph i have provided of the rear sleeve and look in the center there is a very small slightly lighter worn area,other than this very minor worn area the matt rear is in fantastic condition.

EMI ADVERTISING INNER SLEEVE

The album comes with it's EMI ADVERTISING inner sleeve,at present i have the record stored in a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve to prevent marks caused by removing the vinyl from the older coarser paper inners,both inners will be sent with the album to the winning bidder.

A real stunning original 1967 STEREO 1st pressing.

It may be some time before another original 1967 STEREO pressing surfaces for sale in such clean and tidy condition as this one on offer here.
