The earliest 1971 1st UK pressing has the following charatceristics..
- Garrod & Lofthouse textured (on both sides) non-gatefold cover - later pressings were not textured.
- Plain black and white cover with no red or pink text - later pressings had 'Relics Pink Floyd' in coloured text.
- The spine is lightly 'pinched' at both ends.
- 1st pressings had the title and catalogue number on the side spine only. Later pressings have the title & catalogue number on the side spine and on the top seam edge.
- EMI black and white Starline, Regal, Talisman 'ads' inner sleeve.
- A1/B2 matrix numbers - there were no A1/B1 matrix releases of this record
- The labels have "The Gramophone Co..." text around the perimeter - later pressings have 'an EMI...' text.
- The labels have "Made in Gt Britain" below the EMI logo at the base of the label - later pressings omitted this text.
- Thick heavy duty vinyl - later pressings used lighter vinyl.
The one on offer here has all of the above 1st pressing characteristics.
Cover: These 1st pressings textured covers are very hard to find in nice condition. This one is Excellent+ with no writings, doodles or seam splits. You will struggle to find a better one than this.
Inner sleeve: Comes in the original non poly-lined EMI Starline black & white 'ads' inner sleeve which is Excellent+. This original inner sleeve is impossibly rare and hardly ever turns up with the LP.
Labels: Near Mint - no writings, doodles or stickers.
Vinyl: Not play tested but looks to be in Excellent+. I only ever played this a few times and then stored it away where it has been for many years - this was my keeper. Looks stunning and I am assuming it will play as good as it looks. There are some whispy lines under a strong light which are caused by storage in the non poly-lined inner sleeve rather than through playing.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and more significant scratches.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc
Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
