Even though I've played this to assure myself of its condition, yes I can say that this is in Mint condition. Let me take you gently by the hand and lead you through the throbbing grooves of this truly psychedelic meisterwerk. There it is, in the corner of the room. Go up to it quietly, you don't want it to start screaming again. Pick it up nice and gentle, that's it. Look at that lovely flipback cover, laminated on the front and the foldy bits on the back. Not a wrinkle. Hard to believe, but there it is. No discolouring on the back either, despite it being 36 years old. Up in the top right corner it states File under POPULAR : Pop Groups and at the bottom you have 6807 TPS Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending SX 6258/SCX 6258. Yes, it's the Stereo of the species and a lovely example too. Careful now, you're going to take the outer skin off, this doesn't hurt if you're gentle. That's it, put that bit over on the bed. Now look at the endoskeleton and check out the markings. Add these outstanding LPs to your collection it says and what do you see? LPs by The Shadows, The Beatles, Manfred Mann, The Hollies, Manfred Mann, The Yardbirds and Manuel and his Music of the Mountains to name but lots. Even that doesn't have a fold in it. Now the throbbing heart of the matter or the vinyl as we like to call it. Look at its face, isn't that the original blue and black Columbia label? Ye-e-esss and look at how new it looks. The vinyl gleams like a new pin, not even a fingerprint on the dead wax area. Now the sound. Well, as I laid this magnificent creature onto the glass turntable of my Rega Planar 3 I noticed no signs of a struggle around the centre hole, this was an unsullied beauty. As I slowly lowered the stylus into the shining black plastic, silent grooves greeted me. All the way through both sides this wonderful experience continued, through to the dead wax wherein printed I found the numbers YAX 3633-1 and YAX 3634-1 and the stamper numbers 1G and 1R. On side two the is the raised tax code lettering of which I can only make out the K but I imagine there's a T there too. The Gramophone Co. Ltd. message is there around the out side of the labels and the Sold in U.K. message is there in full above the centre hole. I'm sorry not to be able to show you pictures of this beautiful specimen but with my scanner knackered and no digital camera here I'm rather stuffed. Please take some notice of what I've written here and you'll know that this is a really first class piece. Read my feedback to make up your own mind as to whether I'm genuine or not. Mind you, I am a bit bonkers too but that's because I've steeped my addled brain in wonderful music from a very early age. God bless you and In A Gadda Da Vida.
