PINK FLOYD SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS SCX 6258 UK STEREO BLUE LABEL FIRST PRESS VG+/NM.
Sleeve Condition: VG+
The sleeve is overall in amazing condition considering it being 58 years old. There is a small dent and crease in the top left of the front cover and some imprint of writing, likely from someone writing on paper on top the album. The back is beautiful, with several small creases along the flap. These creases are very common and it is extremely rare to find a copy with none. There is no outer wear/rings from frequent use, and all the original colors are there. Everything is visible in the pictures as well.
Inner Sleeve Condition: VG
Original EMI brown/red inner, condition is visible in pics as well. There is some stains and a small tear in the bottom where the record slides in.
Vinyl Condition: NM (Play Tested Also)
This is honestly one of the most if not the most attractive copy of this album I have ever seen. There are NO scratches or scuffs throughout the record. Besides the light amount of dust (that does not effect audio), there are no flaws with the vinyl. It is almost as if it is a brand new copy that was just taken out of the shrink wrap. I did not clean the dust off because it did not have an effect on the audio and I did not want to risk accidentally leaving hairline scratches on the vinyl because it has none. It sounds as amazing as it looks too, there are no noticeable tics, skips, or pops. Even in the quietest moments, the record plays clean and perfectly. This is an amazing example of an amazing album, and I can easily see it being the centerpiece of any collection.

Matrix info - YAX 3663-1 H / YAX 3664-1 P
Release Info - This is a very early UK pressing, one of the first 3000-4500 copies ever made in the UK. It is one of the earliest copies with the second inner sleeve and side 1 label variant. Very early copies will have a black inner sleeve and side 1 credits to “Magdalene music” whereas this copy has the brown inner with credits to “Lupus Music LTD.” The H for side 1 means it is from the 7th mother, and the P on side 2 means it is from the 6th mother. Each mother is generally used to press 300-500 copies, and given those numbers one can assume that this is likely within the first 3000 copies made.
The letters are based on “gramophone LTD” and work as follows:
G - 1
R - 2
A - 3
M - 4
O - 5
P - 6
H - 7
L - 8
T - 9
D - 0
For example, if a record has “GH” stampers, that means it is a later pressing related to the 17th mother ripped from the master laquer. Any mother under 10 is very early, rare, and sought after.
This album is a true masterpiece and given its condition, rarity, and significance to Pink Floyd it is a bucket list album for any collector. I hope it finds an amazing home and is enjoyed for years to come.
