COLLECTOR’S COPY IN NEAR MINT, IF NOT MINT CONDITION!
GUARANTEED!
I am offering up for auction my collectors copy of a Saucerful of Secrets, SX-6258 on the BLUE UK COLUMBIA label. I have finally completed recording my entire Floyd catalog to reel-to-reel and it’s time to let them go to another good home.
This is a very, very rare version of this LP as it is a A TRUE 1ST PRESSING! I will note all of the proof of this statement below:
This LP is extremely rare and next to impossible to find on a good day but what makes this LP even rarer and really special is that it’s the 'EARLIEST' of the 1ST pressings and containing many important details that are simply not present on the later pressings! PLEASE READ!
RELEASE INFORMATION:
First MONO issue SX-6258 with the BLUE MUSICAL NOTES label, the KT tax code stamps and the MISPELLED "GILMORE" credits.
VINYL:
To start; the record is pressed on VERY THICK CHUNKY VINYL and not the flimsy thin vinyl used on the later pressings.
The MATRIX NUMBERS in the dead wax ends in 1G/1G; the (the later pressings do not!)
LABLES:
Black Columbia label with silver text, and a blue "Columbia Records Magic Notes Trademark" at the top, and a blue "Columbia" in the center.
KT stamped near center hole.
Underneath the blue "Columbia" it says "Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions. See price lists."
At the bottom of the label, it says "Made in GT Britain."
Text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 10 o'clock and says:
The Gramophone Co., Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorized public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited.
The record labels are in superb condition (see pictures) with NO writing, NO wear, NO stickers and only a FEW spindle marks! It is very clear that this record has had very limited play!
INNER SLEEVE:
Black printing on white paper. On the front side is the EMI logo at the top center, with "Add these outstanding LPs to your collection" at the top, 16 LP covers pictured in the middle including Both Sides of Herman's Hermits, and "Remember-the new Emitex cleans and preserves your records," and "Patents applied for" at the bottom.
On the back side is the EMI logo at the top center, with " - the greatest recording organization in the world" at the top, 16 LP covers pictured in the middle including the Beatles-Revolver, and "E.M.I. Records (The Gramophone Company Ltd.) Hayes - Middlesex - England, Made and Printed in Great Britain" at the bottom.
The COVER is graded a VG+++:
Laminated flipback cover. At top foldover of back cover it says "File under POPULAR : Pop Groups." At bottom foldover of back cover it says "6807 TPS Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending SX6258 / SCX6258"
The cover has limited edge wear, NO spinal wear, corners are dinged slightly; very slightly. there is some creases albeeit it vet samll and light; not heavy creasing. The is NO writing and only the very slighest of ringwear, NO SEAM SPLITS and the COVER IS FLAT! The opening edges are beautifully STRAIGHT w/again; only the very slighest of feathering.
The VINYL is graded MINT!
It took me (7) copies of this LP to finally find one in this condition. It is simply in stunning condition with MAYBE ONE or TWO wispy lines from removing from & repalcing back into the inner sleeve.
IT VISUALLY LOOKS MINT and as it had been pressed yesterday.
It is also great to find that the playing of the record is as stunning as the visual. It plays “DEAD QUIET”, CRISP & CLEAN MONO! with only the slighest low-level hiss at loud volumes. There are NO HISS, NO POPS, NO CRACKLES, NO JUMPS & NO STICKS! The sound quality is simply superb with NO GROOVEWEAR and NO DISTORTION!
With all of the ultra rare 'earliest possible' 1ST press differences I have mentioned above don’t miss out on this mega rare opportunity!
I do my best to show the record from all angles and make the pictures as clear as possible; there is nothing to hide! It is truly rare to find any copies of this mega rare LP in this sort of condition!
