PINK FLOYD Saucerful Secrets MONO UK 1ST PRESS, SUPERB!

Description

Detailed seller ratings:

Item as described: I list everything possible about this item, please read everything thoroughly and view ALL of the photographs. Please do not bid if you expect something different from the listing.

Communication: I will answer any sensible query quickly and politely, but please read the listing thoroughly first. I email the winner to thank them for the bid and to advise them of the likely dispatch date (usually within 24 hours of receiving payment). I email again to confirm dispatch and provide tracking number.

Dispatch time: I dispatch within 24 hours of cleared funds, sometimes even the same day if the payment is received early enough and I am able to get to the post office in time. After that, it's down to the Royal Mail and whichever international mail service is involved - all of which is out of my control.

Postage and packing costs: It generally costs me more than I charge for shipping by the time I add in my mailers, stiffeners, shipping labels, printer ink, packing tape, fragile labels, petrol to the post office...so I do not overcharge on my shipping costs in any way.

Feedback: I would appreciate your feedback after the sale and you have received your item and are happy with it. This means I can then leave feedback for you and our transaction is closed.

FULLY PLAY GRADED VINYL - FROM START TO FINISH - EXCELLENT PLAYBACK! READ THE FULL, DETAILED DESCRIPTION.

PLAYGRADED: not simply glanced at with a superficial visual grading, fully played and graded throughout (listened to on headphones - the most revealing playgrade method, with no exterior audio distractions)

VINYL:

X A X   3 6 3 3 - 1        P

X A X   3 6 3 4 - 1        H    1   2

Excellent+ looking vinyl with only a few light hairlines/sleeve removal marks/scuffs visible under strong light.

Side One: audio is consistently EX to EX+ if not even better on the louder tracks. There is light background noise (more like hiss than crackle) which is totally obliterated on the loud tracks. Even the quieter intros play very nicely and this is one of the better copies I've heard, with not much background noise audible at all. Superb tone and volume throughout on this very first UK pressing.

NOT ONE SINGLE POP OR CLICK! VERY LITTLE CRACKLE!

Side Two: plays just as well at the start of Side Two which again just has light background noise only audible on the quietest sections and easily covered by the loud audio. This is definitely one of the best playing copies I've seen/heard.

AGAIN NOT ONE SINGLE POP OR CLICK! VERY LITTLE CRACKLE!

Plays right through with no jumps or sticks.

OUTER SLEEVE:

Original very 1st press laminated flipback sleeve made by Garrod & Lofthouse with the correct date code of 6807 (July 1968)

As well as the incredibly rare version this is, it is also in superb condition, still very glossy with no real visible wear at all, just slightly worn on the flipbacks. A few of the usual laminate creases, mainly near to the front opening edge, right hand side. Overall though, I would still say it is one of the best sleeves I've seen and certainly very hard to find in this condition given the age.

The edges are unworn, the spine is legible and not flattened, the opening edges are still moderately crisp with only minor thumbing, the corners show just some minor bumping and very slight wear. Very nice example.

LABELS:

Excellent, NO graffiti, 'KT' on Side One, quite a few spindle traces but plays remarkably well.

INNER SLEEVE:

Original EMI black print advertising sleeve. Slight seam splits. No poly liner. The record has been stored in a separate poly lined sleeve to preserve the original one and prevent any further damage.

Thanks for taking the time. Good luck in the auction.
