(Stampers "M" and "A" , actually the very first possible mother stampers issued only the first few days) This has Gilmour misspelled as "Gilmore" on the label side 2 credit.

It is hard to compare this to the debut. Yes, they are both quite psychedelc but the flavour is very different. Gone are the whimsical and charming fairytale songs, instead we got dark biting humour with Corporal Clegg. The mystique in Set The Controls is of another kind than what we had on Chapter 24. The long title track is coldly constructed and a great contrast to the chaos in Interstellar Overdrive. Even Syd’s song here is of a character that would not fit on Piper. But I think the album stands well on it’s own feet despite the fact it was made by a band in the middle of a great change. (review from: rateyourmusic.com)

An awesome original rare to find 1st UK pressing genuine 52 years old superb and this is complete in great condition! Normally this is found in a terrible state and over played! This has been clearly looked after! Very very collectable and sought after like this!! 

Vinyl:  VG+ to EX.  Both surfaces retain their original deep, glossy sheen. A GREAT VINYL COPY WHICH WILL PROVE HARD TO BETTER!!!  Two ultra thin wispy hairlines not visible in normal daylight but just under strong light source and angled. Under a strong light there are the obligatory paper retraction traces which all vinyls have. The whole LP sounds absolutely stunning and plays to an extremely high standard with superb clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion and is very strictly graded a strong EX for audio and visual appearance - great copy!!  I have played this on my very revealing setup with a Linn Sondek cartridge, Rotel amp and B&W 3 way speakers. Of course, NO skips, NO jumps, No crackle. The winner will be very happy with this vinyl.

Sleeve:  VG+.  Front laminated with beautiful deep colours. The sleeve has the correct flipbacks to the rear and is front laminated and is downgraded because the bottom edge has a small seam split. Some creases to the opening side as per the picture supplied. Otherwise the sleeve has a fully legible spine and nice edges. This is the original MONO sleeve with the correct catalogue number SX 6258. Many mono copies will have replacement stereo sleeves which of course are more common. This is the original package with the original sleeve retained also. The Mono packageis very very rare indeed!!
