This album should not need explaining - clearly one of if not THE greatest album of its' time.
PINK FLOYD played it live from January 20th 1972, and refined the compositions over the next full year or more, to make a fulfilling and outstanding concept record that stayed on the top selling album charts for the following 14years!
An international success, and an inter-generational piece too, as it had such an undeniable appeal that our grandfathers knew it and maybe had a copy too!
This one comes from the VERY FIRST pressed release, signified by the LIGHT BLUE PRISM lable. This was almost immediately changed, due to complaints that the SILVER TEXT TITLES could not be easily read!
The cover too is of the earliest period, glued on the left gate, white card inside.
CONDITION;
The VINYL is in VG++ condition. The discernable marks in bright sunlight are not into the grooves - essentially sleeve scuff. The production of course is wonderful - deep warm bass tones and great STEREO projection. Not a top mint copy, but a very decent playing first pressing.
LABLES with the large blue pyramid first issue. Also bright and clean EXCELLENT.
The (DARK BLUEISH) BLACK GATEFOLD COVER is VG+ to ++ overall, having light handling wear. This also has the telling glue in the left side, which was only done with earliest copies made.
All posters and stickers are included! (Stickers are from 2 different manufacturers, there were at least 3 suppliers making these)
The inner sleeve is the custom black inner with poly lining.
ALL COMPLETE as original.
