Description

The Final Cut A-5U / B-4U
When I purchased this album recently from a second hand record store the vendor told me that the previous owner said he had never played it.  Having listened to it I have no reason to doubt him as the audio is of the highest quality imaginable with only a very small section that doesn't play as Mint.  This is quite possibly the best 'Final Cut' I have ever heard.  A final upgrade, archive LP for certain.
The gatefold has the original sticker and the vinyl remains in its original black inner.
The audio on Side One is Mint
The audio on Side Two is Mint (apart from Track 2 which is Ex+ for the first minute)
The gatefold is Near Mint-
The original black inner is  Near Mint
The labels are Mint
Visual grading
This is without doubt the best version of this LP I have ever seen.  You can see it has never been played as there is no spindle wear on the labels whatsoever and there are no hairlines or scratches visible under a strong bright light.  It honestly looks as good as the day when it was first released 34 years ago.  Wow!
Play grading

The audio across the whole side is absolutely stunning.  'The Post War Dream' has such clarity throughout with just the odd dust tick.  So often this opening track plays with crackle but not here!  'Your Possible Pasts' has audio of Mint quality, the playback was just immaculate.  There is no need to individually describe each track as they all play with the same breathtaking quality.  A personal favourite 'The Gunners Dream' plays in sublime fashion, as new and that is no exaggeration.  For a side with so many very quiet sections to play in this way is an incredibly rarity.  Every track on this side, apart from the first one which still grades as Near Mint, have no interference whatsoever, not even a solitary dust tick.  In all honesty the play as Mint but I will grade the side as Mint- as it isn't sealed!  They play as clearly as a CD but without the warmth, depth and sonic quality that vinyl brings.

'Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert' for an opening track, which commonly play with a little static/crackle, plays with remarkable clarity and practically sounds as new.  Perhaps just a handful of very faint dust ticks in the background.  'The Fletcher Memorial Home' has the same clarity but does have a couple of pops near the beginning but for the life of me I can't see why as there is nothing on the vinyl to explains it.  There is also a very gentle 'swish' sound for a few revolutions but quite honestly you may not pick it up as it is so much in the background as to be negligible.  I imagine both of these 'faults' may have been caused in the manufacture.  Other than that the track plays with stunning precision.  There are a handful of dust ticks at the start of 'The Final Cut' but thereafter the side plays with the same depth of sound and quality as per Side One.  'Not Now John' rocks out with no interference and no distortion for such a loud track and 'Two Suns In The Sunset' ends the LP with Mint audio again, there is no 'background' at all.  A stunning end to an underrated album, albeit an almost 'solo' one!

Gatefold cover

The gatefold is in wonderful overall condition with only minor shelf wear.  The edges are in excellent order with only one small area of wear on the top right edge where it has been slightly squashed and one even smaller 'rub' on the bottom edge near the spine.  The wide spine itself is in superb shape.  The gatefold is beautifully clean inside and out and rarely have I seen one looking as good as this.  The opening edge has no handling wear which is hardly surprising.
The labels
They are in perfect condition with no spindle wear, marks or writing.
Original inner
The original die-cut black poly-lined inner is in great condition with no splits or tears and hardly any creasing.
