NOTEWORTHY FEATURES / EARLY PRESS CREDENTIALS: THE MATRICES INDICATE AN EARLY PRESS, BUT THIS IS ALSO SUPPORTED BY SEVERAL OTHER KEY FEATURES. STARTING AT THE INSIDE AND WORKING OUT THERE IS THE THICKER DIE CUT CARD CONSTRUCTION OF THE INNER SLEEVES. THE FIRST ISSUE OF THIS ALBUM HAD THICK CARD ILLUSTRATED LYRIC INNERS - WHITE ON THE OUTSIDE WITH WITH 'RAW' BROWN CARD INTERIORS WHICH, SOON AFTER RELEASE, IT WAS THOUGHT MIGHT DAMAGE THE VINYLS SO THEY WERE CHANGED TO THINNER PAPER INNER SLEEVES WITH SMOOTH WHITE INTERNAL WALLS - PLEASE SEE PHOTOGRAPHS AS I HAVE SHOWN EXAMPLES OF BOTH FOR REFERENCE. YOU CAN ALSO SEE THAT THE FIRST CARD INNERS HAD ROUNDED CORNERS WHILE THE LATER PAPER ONES WERE SQUARED - BUT DON'T WORRY, ALTHOUGH THESE EARLY VINYLS HAVE THEIR ORIGINAL FIRST CARD COVERS FROM NEW THEY HAVE BEEN KEPT IN SEPERATE WHITE PAPER INNERS WITH SOFT ANTISTATIC POLY-LINERS AND ARE IN SUPERB CONDITION. ALSO THE EARLY ISSUES HAD NO BARCODE ON THE OUTER COVER OF COURSE AND ONLY ONE CREDIT ON THE INNER SLEEVES WITH CATALOGUE NUMBER, WHEREAS THE LATER ONES HAD THREE - AGAIN PLEASE SEE PHOTOGRAPHS. THE EARLY ISSUE VINYLS WERE HEAVIER, I CANNOT ILLUSTRATE THAT BUT YOU CAN TAKE MY WORD FOR IT THERE IS A NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE WHICH IN MY OPINION / HEARING HAS A SIGNIFICANT AUDIO CONSEQUENCE. THEN THERE IS THE STICKER - WHEN THE ALBUM WAS FIRST RELEASED THERE WAS SAID TO BE ARTISTIC-v-COMMERCIAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PINK FLOYD AND THE RECORD COMPANY ABOUT THE COVER. THE RECORD COMPANY WANTED IT NAMED/TITLED THE ARTISTS WANTED IT PLAIN AND PURE SO A COMPROMISE WAS REACHED WHERE THE ALBUM WAS SHRINK WRAPPED WITH THE STICKER INSIDE - THEY WERE LATER ATTACHED. THIS ONE HAS THE ORIGINAL LOOSE STICKER WHICH I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED ON A PIECE OF PLAIN WHITE PAPER. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT, IT IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO OWN THE REAL THING.

THIS IS A VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY AN EARLY PRESSING OF THIS INCREDIBLE AND HISTORIC CLASSIC ALBUM FROM ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT AND INFLUENTIAL GROUPS OF MUSICIANS AND WRITERS EVER TO EMERGE IN THE SPHERE OF PROGRESSIVE MUSIC. COMBINE THAT WITH THE FACT THAT IT IS ACCOMPANIED BY A SUPERB FULL COLOUR PRINT PROGRAMME FROM 'THE WALL' TOUR AND YOU HAVE AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE OFFER. IN SOME PART AN ARTISITIC COLLABORATION WITH ANOTHER UNIQUE ARTIST THIS IS A GERALD SCARFE, ROGER WATERS DESIGN COVER, LABELS AND PROGRAMME WITH TWO SUPERB VINYL'S CONTAINING SOME OF THE MOST MEMORABLE MUSIC FROM THE SEVENTIES. THE GATEFOLD COVER IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND THE VINYL'S ARE EXCELLENT TOO. AN EARLY AND BEAUTIFULLY MATCHED PAIR DELIVERING BRILLIANT AUDIO. A HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE PACKAGE THIS IS AN AMAZING CLASSIC DOUBLE VINYL ALBUM BY PINK FLOYD ALL IN LOVELY CONDITION.

 I RATE THE COMPONENTS OF THIS ALBUM AS FOLLOWS:

VINYLS (visual / physical appraisal) - TOP QUALITY HEAVIER-WEIGHT HARVEST VINYLS. A FEW WISPY, SUPERFICIAL, SURFACE LIGHT LINES IN PLACES, CAUSED BY MOVEMENT IN AND OUT OF THE INNER SLEEVES, WHICH HAVE NO TANGIBLE DEPTH AND IN FACT ARE HARD TO SEE. BOTH VINYLS LIE HAVE THE GLOSSY BLACK SHINE AS NEW AND LIE FLAT ON A MOVING TURNTABLE MAT WITH NO VISIBLE DISTORTION, GREAT VINYL'S - MY RATING 90%+ (PLEASE ALSO READ THE AUDIO TEST BELOW)

GATEFOLD COVER - THIS IS A SUPERB CONDITION GATEFOLD DOUBLE OUTER COVER - A LITTLE LIGHT RUBBING HERE AND THERE, WHICH IS HARD TO SEE AND SOME TINY BRUISING ON THE LEADING EDGES WHERE THE VINYLS ENTER THIS IS AS NEW - ONE OF THE BEST EXAMPLES I'VE SEEN - MY RATING 90%

ILLUSTRATED LYRIC INNER SLEEVES - ORIGINAL FIRST DIE CUT CARD, ALMOST AS NEW - MY RATING 90%+

REAL AUDIO TEST / SOUND CHECK: TO ASSIST BUYERS I HAVE DECIDED TO ADD A SPECIFIC AUDIO QUALITY COMMENT BASED ON MY HEARING. I HAVE NOT DONE THIS BEFORE BECAUSE TO SOME EXTENT IT IS AN ‘INDIVIDUAL PERSONAL THING’ BUT WHEN SOMEBODY IS MAKING CLAIMS OF VERY GOOD, EXCELLENT OR MINT ABOUT A VINYL I THINK BUYERS ARE ENTITLED TO HAVE AN OPINION ABOUT HOW IT SOUNDS. I PLAY ALL MY VINYLS ON A PRO-JECT DEBUT lll DECK WITH THE DOWNFORCE SET AT 17.5 mN (1.75 g) THROUGH AN AMPLIFIER WITH BASS & TREBLE SET TO ZERO AND UNFILTERED. I WILL RATE THEM IN PERCENTAGE TERMS, AS I DO FOR THE OTHER COMPONENTS OF THE ALBUM; WITH OF COURSE A SPECIFIC COMMENT IF THEY SKIP, JUMP, SLIDE, SLIP OR SLUR ALTHOUGH I DO NOT EXPECT TO BE SELLING ANY VINYLS WITH THOSE DEFECTS. FOR THE ALBUM IN THIS LISTING THE RESULTS FOLLOW IN GREEN PRINT.

I WAS DELIGHTED WITH THIS, A THOROUGHLY STIMULATING AND EXCITING AUDIO EXPERIENCE. AS WITH MOST AUDIO REPRODUCTION YOU HAVEN'T HEARD IT AS IT WAS INTENDED TO BE HEARD UNTIL YOU LISTEN TO IT ON VINYL - THESE VINYLS DELIVER TOP QUALITY SOUND. EVEN WITH MY AUDIO CRITICAL SETTINGS THAT ARE SO INTOLERANT OF SURFACE IMPERFECTIONS THERE WAS VERY LITTLE BACKGROUND SOUND, I SUSPECT VIRTUALLY NO GROOVEWEAR, CLEAN AND CLEAR ON THE QUIET SECTIONS AND BETWEEN TRACKS, NO SIGNIFICANT INTERFERENCE DURING PLAY,  SMOOTH, CONTINUOUS AND PLEASURABLE SOUND THROUGHOUT. FULL BODIED, 'THREE DIMENSIONAL'SENSATIONAL AND AS GOOD AS IT GETS - I RATE THE AUDIO QUALITY AT 88%+

Makes no sense to me to buy something important and then play the ‘high risk of damage game’ when having it shipped around the world – I hope you feel the same. Packing and Postage charges differ internationally SO I ALWAYS RECOMMEND THAT OVERSEAS BUYERS ASK FOR THESE COSTS BEFORE BIDDING. Unless the prospective bidder / buyer states a preference I always quote Airmail as Surface Mail does not usually cost much less and takes a long time (again more risk of damage or loss I think). Also please note that for British Pounds £3.30 extra you can have an International Signed for service which includes insurance up to £32. Insurance quotations to a value you specify in advance of shipping are available on request. PACKING & POSTAGE:  Vinyl’s are removed from covers/sleeves and placed in separate transit sleeves to travel outside of the covers. All components are packed in polyliners for safety and sandwiched/sealed between two stiffeners before being placed in high quality mailers for posting. I use ‘Premium Quality 600 Micron Card Mailers’ with ‘Ultra Safe’ double 3.5 cm. wide latex strips across the whole of the mailer which provides excellent adhesion and protection. Internally I use 2 of the highest grade ‘B’ flute corrugated card stiffeners to prevent bending, deformation or edge/corner creasing. Packing & postage prices are NOT negotiable on items dispatched individually or separately. However, if you are a similar time multiple buyer where all items purchased are being sent to the same address and they can be combined safely, you can ask for a discounted quotation before bidding. I will always try to be fair with buyers on p&p costs but if you do not want to pay the prices on the listings or quotations please do not bid.  I am not interested in hearing from successful bidders afterwards questioning and complaining about cost of packing and postage! I always keep proof of posting but unless you pay for Recorded Delivery, International Signed For, Special Delivery or Full Insurance I may not be able to assist you with recovery of the item or any of the costs.

PAYMENT: I accept payment by PayPal only from overseas buyers and Paypal, Personal Cheques and Postal Orders in British Pounds Sterling.
